Anyone wanting Ashley should be round up and shot. End of.

Largely agree, although I don't think anyone REALLY "wants" him, but is he worse than what we have?
I'd love to be a in a situation where we can easily say "if it's between Ashley and Top/Rudkin, keep Top/Rudkin" but I think that line is very blurred these days.

What issues were there?

None

Newcastle may have gone down under him, but look at us 😂

The ‘issue’ with Mike Ashley from Newcastle fans’ own eyes is that they thought they should’ve been winning things because lots of people go to the stadium twice a week.

They were incredibly self entitled and believed their own hype.

I've been doing some investigating.

Charles Street Buildings Group has deep historical ties to Leicester and owns a vast portfolio of properties there.

In late 2024, the Dallas-based private equity firm Lone Star Funds partnered up & acquired a major portion of the group's mixed asset portfolio (about 40 assets) for nearly £580 million. Charles Street Buildings continues to hold and operate out of the East Midlands.

The global private equity firm Lone Star Funds is owned by its founder and chairman, John P. Grayken. Under his ownership, the Dallas-based firm focuses on distressed assets, real estate, corporate equity, and credit.

More interesting info.

1. Grayken’s firm is headquartered in Dallas, he lives in London because he can’t spend much more than 120 days a year in the U.S. without having to pay the U.S. taxman.

2. His long time number two, Ellis Short, who helped found Lone Star, left in 2007. Short did well enough at Lone Star to buy Sunderland FC.

we are an attractive target given our infrastructure

anyone with finances and ambition, looking to buy a club with a view to having a PL club in five years time would see us as a good target. The problem being the price that king power would demand. (Too high)
from what we read, there is no word of a takeover - seems to be about investment for some equity so looks like king power stay in control for now.

of course if we don’t bounce back next season then that could well change the calculations by KP

Surely there’s no local businessmen with huge funds that we need?

Could be ignorance of mine but surely you need a billionaire?

John Grayken has an estimated net worth of approximately $6.9 billion, he owns Charles Street Buildings Group.

The Charles Street Buildings (CSB) Group has been firmly rooted in Leicester since the 1950s.

Ashley is just another Top.

The PIF have hardly bankrolled Newcastle in comparison to Chelsea and Man City (like what was to believed) and look at the difference since.

Yes “Aiyawatt the clown” 🤡 will still be here but hopefully we’ll have someone on board with a presence that can say to him

“You jolly on back to Thailand to play on your gee gees and I’ll operate the club as I know what I’m doing, stay as long as you like, no need to rush back”
