I think there's a distinction between fans, glory supporters and those types who go for a day out or just want to see Premier League players.

We did genuinely have fans all over the Midlands to the point there was threads on Forest and Coventry forums losing their marbles about it. That wouldn't happen now. I think it's difficult to call someone who only takes an interest when you're in the Premier League a "fan".

Season Ticket Latest: Blue Army Backing Leads To Cap Increase

We’d like to thank our supporters for their outstanding commitment ahead of the 2026/27 season, with 22,292 Season Tickets already sold for the new campaign.

Despite a challenging period for the Club, we’ll have the Blue Army right behind us as we take on League One from August, with a total of 17,954 Season Ticket Holders renewing for 2026/27 - representing a 79.1 per cent renewal rate.

A further 4,338 fans secured new Season Tickets during the initial sales period, taking the total number sold to 22,292 before sales were paused for a planned reconciliation process in May.

With enquiries over additional availability still high, we have taken the decision to increase the Season Ticket cap for 2026/27 to 23,500, making a further 1,208 Season Tickets available.

These additional Season Tickets went on sale from 10am on Monday 15 June.

We are grateful to all supporters who renewed and purchased during the initial sales period and to those who have shown such strong interest in joining us for the season ahead.

Once Russell Martin is announced there will likely be a flurry of cancellations probably explains the timing of this announcement……

What happens if we request a cancellation at this stage? Are they still allowing it, now that the 1st DD payment has gone through?

this is in the T’s & C’s so it depends on what the wording “during the course of the season” imply

a Season Ticket is not refundable and cannot be cancelled by the Season Ticket Holder during the course of the Season. However, the Club

will consider requests for a refund in exceptional circumstances or on compassionate grounds on a case-by-case basis.

21% of ST holders giving up their tickets is pretty mad.

Even madder the 21% buying a season ticket

Can’t help but think a lot of people have rushed out to buy season tickets expecting us to run away with the league and will lose interest once we are struggling. Possibly some even think this is a blip and we will be winning the PL in a few seasons…..

Think it was more getting them with kids. First real big clear opportunity for a generation to become season ticket holders.”

That’s what I’ve done.

Yeah true and that will be the case for lots also.

Either way a sign of the barriers that have been in place for a while. It has worked for them really as this decline should have seen mass walk outs and declines in attendances but because they have withheld the opportunity from local people and like you say, kids for over 10 years, people are just desperate to get back in.

Not a criticism and it’s understandable.

Edit - not a criticism of the supporters that means.

I hear a lot who did not renew have been back to rescind their decision which is really strange.

It’s slightly unfortunate that whenever they get their feelings hurt by nasty protests, they’ll look back at these figures and reassure themselves they’re doing the right thing.

I think within that is that there is just not enough protesting or voicing the anger and feeling towards them that it hits home.

It's still very much of look it's the mardy UFS lot and thats it.

That's certainly why I've got them. I gave mine up in 2017 after 15 years when the kids were very young and I just didn't have the time or the money to go. As they've got older they've been desperate to go to more matches, but we've been living off scraps such as pre-season friendlies and early round cup games. I know match tickets have been available more recently, but the cost of buying match tickets for 4 people was still horrendously high. I've told both kids after each relegation that I'd completely understand if they want to support someone else now, but they've always stuck by Leicester and although I feel sorry for them, that actually makes me quite proud. Getting their tickets now, however much I hate the club right now, means they've got them for life now if they want them.

Yeah totally get it mate.

Ive got two and the oldest got a season ticket. Leicester daft so must be doing something right to stop him being a Sheff United fan with a family around him who are all Blades.

We will see. If they could guarantee strong match by match sales then I doubt an increase in season ticket sales would be available. We sold out the ST allocation last season and have almost blocks of empty seats.

Numbers are strong but it is finely balanced.
