The issue is we played this football under Enzo. Then went and got Cooper who was so different and then every style since has been different.

 

The real randomness of our appointments has meant we have lost our identity as a club and the players dont know what to do. We need to stick with a style and run with it.

I don’t buy that every style has been different. Cooper constantly spoke about continuing the style of Enzo. Ruud was Dutch. Marti constantly spoke about Cruyff and Barcelona. Russell Martin is Russell Martin.

 

Every appointment has been to fulfill Top’s dream of “playing like Man City”. The club have never deviated.

It's more that they won't admit that they are wrong. He's the pinnacle of the playing style the whole club is built around. He is the personification of the club King Power have built. Sacking him is the ultimate recognition of their own failure and the real end of the line for them.

Just watched his LCFC interview on YouTube. What else could he have said ? He took blame, and said that result was unacceptable . He rightly said we had no energy first half, young players playing 3 games in a week. and about his subs.

I’m stunned by the 4 -0 but still think we’ve got a squad good enough for the play offs, once they settle. 
So I’m still on the fence with him. As to the comments on here about his diet etc- grow up you idiots- always resort to slagging off each manager because they don’t fit your little echo chamber criteria .

Absolutely right. I admit I had no idea or interest in him until he was rumoured to be joining us. The reaction here was almost entirety negative (cue the foxestalk is negative reply).

And that's the scary part. The idiots will think we are doing well because our possession is quite high. Thinking we are playing good football. Someone needs to help them realise that possession doesn't win games, goals do. 

 

RM can get in the bin. Not good enough, doesn't command any respect from anywhere doesn't do anything during games to make a positive impact

That interview that Aiyawatt did made me realise that we were even more ****ed than I initially thought (and I thought we were ****ed). Above anything else, he came across as really unintelligent.

I can't imagine the thought process that went into giving Martin the job. Compare to any other line of work. I know football has a high turnover and managers get sacked but surely that Martin had been in a results slump both at both Rangers and Southampton with stark embarrassing results should have been enough. The single promotion season was a dim and distant memory

Russell Martin has never been able to coach defensive resilience. All of his teams have been defensively fragile, even the Southampton team that scraped promotion. Everyone in football knows this. So the question is: given how defensively fragile we’ve been over the past few years, and how mentally weak, why did the club appoint a manager who was guaranteed not to fix those problems? I’d love to hear the explanation.

Well, allegedly the board or at least Top has called an emergency meeting. Brussel is shaving millions off our value every week. He’s an abomination  of a manager. We all knew it. The highly paid cockwombles running the club apparently didn’t.  Says it all really. 
 

Whether we do anything about it remains to be seen. Won’t hold my breath.

We’re all utterly staggered that Martin keeps getting jobs. He ruined us in the exact same way as he ruined Rangers and now yourselves. His only success was taking a Southampton side up to the PL, scraping it via the playoffs when they should have walked the league with that squad.

It’s very entertaining (nothing personal, it’s entirely towards Martin), because he constantly trots out the same crap every game. The style of play is suicidal and boring. The only tiny bit of success he had with us was a string of a handful of games, where he was under pressure and dropped his crazy tactics and allowed players to play to their strengths…rather than trying to turn some cloggers at the back into Iniesta and Xavi.

 

Your club deserves better. He’ll keep telling you to ‘trust the process’ but it will never get better. MK Dons warned us.

 

You need to sack him before it’s too late. He is the biggest charlatan I’ve ever seen in football management.
