Has he ever actually had one single great game for us ? Ever ? Asking for a friend…

Not what I recall.

People raved about him at Oxford but I never saw him there so can't really comment.

Can only go off what I saw in a Leicester shirt, and he was a liability every match.

Probably wasn't the best season for him to be thrown in though..

Given his age and potential, I don't think £10m this day an age is a ridiculous ask.

It's a big if, but if he gets a good move where he can push on it could be a bargain for the next club with a possible resale.

There's so much money in the game, I just don't see why someone wouldn't take the gamble really.

Birmingham FA Cup and I think Millwall (also in FA Cup) under Enzo Maresca he done well, I think last season his struggles were exacerbated by those around him. Stolarczyk similar.

Both come into the side, looked good, then struggled as time went on.

Would be nice to see him come good.

As a League One club with only a year left on his deal as well, £10m is probably ambitious. Ronnie Edwards only went for £3m in similar circumstances. £5m with add ons and a sell on is probably all we'll get.

We made a major mistake by signing Coady and Okoli for at least £15mil combined.

Not only has it brought us terrible performances but it has also made us lose a valuable asset in Nelson for below value or for free.

Will we make the same mistakes this summer buying "experienced" players to reduce the game time of the likes of Evans, Page, Alves and Braybrooke? Of course we will, we never learn.

I think you already know the answer.

I expect all those players to be gone within 2 years and we do more dads army signings.

We deserve everything that is coming to us sadly. A fan bases filled with stupid ‘hE’s cRAp gET rid’ and board within their infinite wisdom who decided to sanction an extension for Vestergaard and their failures have led us to academy products not signing extensions. Both now want to leave and we’ve brought in a manager who needs technically sound players. Setting itself up for a disaster again.

Can’t help but to be pessimistic, while I didn’t expect Ben to leave (can’t blame him) at this stage I can’t trust our recruitment to put things right. The fact this sounds like it could drag on and Rudkin needs a few months to ask his agent mates to see what 💩 is left.

Its so predictable isnt it.  Just keep doing the same thing again and again.

For us to sell, there needs to be a buyer. There does not appear to be a queue forming to buy our centre back who everyone knows cannot pass, which is something of a weakness for an £18 million player.

This is where good DoF's earn their wage, good ones can get rid of mould, bad one's can only get rid of cream.

Not sure he’s as good as what the perception of LCFC fans have him at. He was poor when given the chance last season, always nice to see players from the academy but let’s not pretend he’s a potential world beater. He’s not worth £10M, especially with 1 year left.

It just too little too late. Club have mismanaged his career and development. signing Coady and okoli are examples of this, neither should have played for us and Nelson should have another’s 40-50 appearances in prem or champ, I can’t imagine he wants to be here and can see why. He will develop into a decent defender and will be playing at a higher level than us.

Not sure really our whole team has been so garbage that it's hindered his development. No reliable defensive partner and the squad going through record breaking losses.

A young centre backs nightmare.

Plus an absolutely toxic environment where the culture is on the floor not many if any young players are going to excel in those circumstances.

Nelson has been pretty terrible but I still think he can come good with a solid pro like Souttar next to him. Always seems very nervous, not sure why, but Okoli next to him may be the cause. The hope is he stays, plays well beside Souttar, we get promoted and he signs an extension.

The mercs player rating for Ben on yesterdays match

“Unlike his centre-back partnership (Okoli) Nelson was comfortable on the ball and progressed possession well. Did give the ball away but that is going to happen in this system.”

Would imagine Martin will work with Ben in a similar way as he did with Harwood-Bellis but as H-B had at Southampton Ben will need an experienced steady CB along side him for now & we don’t have that except Souttar, it certainly can’t be Okoli.

edit: Meant to add in Martins system we have to accept that last part of the rating, we even see it with international players at the WC but what we can’t do, which this place does at the drop of a hat, is to write him off and get on his back the moment he makes a mistake.
