Rudkin will sell his own granny if he could make a few bob

Unfortunately this isn't entirely true, he'd let his granny go out of contract and leave the family for nothing (stretching the analogy!). We've lost far too many players for nothing where we could've previously cashed in. Not saying it's not sad to see Monga leave and I'd imagine the £10m is about 95% performance related, but at least we've got something.

Very true. We’re run by people that should have seen the door long ago , there is zero accountability here.

But even our biggest players we can’t and shouldn’t just keep a hold of them ie Tielemans goes for nothing. We just need to get better at signing players to replace them. Which is monumental task for the clowns that keep failing to do this.

Rudkins a ***** yes but I don't get the blame for Tielemans. It was widely reported we had agreed a fee with Arsenal and Tielemans turned it down. He thought he was going to Man u or Real and It backfired.

No one can force a player to go if he don't want that move. Tielemans took a gamble he would get a dream move on a free and that then backfired on him.

We got more for McAteer

We are where we are, eh

McAteer was on a contract and further down the line than Monga is and that would reflect in the price.

Monga could have walked and it gone to a tribunal and we got 4/5m.

Bit split on this. It's needed, but you can't help but feel all these reminders of how far we have fallen just hurt even more day by day.

The gormless clapping off of of the lads when we lose 3-0 to Fulham U21s will be a humbling thrice the size of this reminder.

Backfired on him? Left on a free and most likely got a large signing on fee and hefty wage increase at Villa.

Has won a European trophy, playing CL football and captaining Belgium at the WC.

Poor move for him lol

Just frustrating the fact we are developing our own players and can allow the training ground to start bearing fruits, yet still choose to squander millions on mediocre signings every year instead. Should have had way more minutes last season under his belt as should many others. But if they can't see a pathway to the first team, then rightly why would they stay here

I ment as he didn't get man u or Real or Barca.

Hindsight a wonderful thing or did the players that signed for us expect a prem title.

I don't think it's been mentioned but it's worth noting that if it is £10m, or close to it, that probably makes Monga the record signing out of League One.

We are where we are etc.. but that's actually not bad when you consider Man City are buying on potential.

Ofcourse Fatawu should blow that record out of the water in a few weeks.

Can’t use McAteer as a yard stick. At the peak of his potential, 8-10 games as a goal scorer in the championship pre injury. We had Ipswich with selling him for £12-14m! You aren’t going to get that for a 16yr old with a handful of first team appearances with a goal and couple of assists.

If it’s £10m with a sell on, I think we’ve done well. Maybe would’ve got more as a top flight side ourselves, but that ship long sailed! Even if we were still a mid ranking prem side, these sorts of moves would still happen. We may have smashed the glass ceiling ten years ago, but we didn’t disrupt the food chain

Surely he'd be back on loan and playong every week?

Do you think he would want to be back here?

Enzo being there might help, but if I was either of them I wouldn’t have us at the top of the list of teams to play for this season.
