so think its fair to say no one at the club in terms of playing squad will be on 50k a week then

Take note of the article’s use of the word ‘reportedly’. Journalists use it when they want to make an outrageous claim they know is likely false while covering themselves by quietly acknowledging it’s just lazy gossip. The problem is, there are certain Leicester X accounts that will obediently repeat the claims without scrutiny, which creates the impression they must true.

Red Bull would be in keeping with the Thailand theme too, which isn't that important but still a thing.

I thought RedBull was Austrian ?

Genuinely though, how would people react to us being rebranded 'RB Leicester City'?

I don't think we'll be called 'Red Bull Leicester City' as it's too much of a mouth full.

And I don't think anyone would accept the dropping of 'Leicester City'

Honestly mate it would not bother me in the slightest. A lot of people would moan and I’d totally understand why! To get RB would be a coup for the whole club / fans but it would mean a bit of a re brand unfortunately.

Personally think it would decrease the authenticity of the club even more. As someone else pointed out, Elland Road would never be renamed to fit in with the Red Bull brand nor would they be allowed to rename the club Red Bull Leeds.

Unfortunately now the cats out the bag and we already have a stadium named after an organisation, its an easy switch. Our fanbase wouldnt make many waves either if they did decide to switch the name, even though having Red Bull as opposed to just Leicester City makes it sound tacky and less traditional, but "we are where we are" I guess.

Im sure were getting ahead of ourselves anyway.

Don’t FA rules prohibit any semblance of corporate branding in club names? That’s why Red Bull haven’t bought a club here.

Germany don't allow it either, the RB stands for Rossenball (?) or something like that, they've worked around it

Personally I wouldn't be bothered if they took us on, have Red Bull as a sponsor or whatever - but I don't want to be called RB Leicester ffs

We are already King Power FC so it wouldnt make too much of a difference.

The difference with Leeds is that RB only have a minority stake, not full ownership

(lucky for them)

RasenBallsport.

Which literally means 'LawnBallsports'. It makes as little sense in German as it does in English.

In what universe is it weird to not want your football club to change its name to become an advert for a bloody energy drink?

Not a weird choice, just we do have a weird fanbase. 🤣 no offence intended

I don’t really know what you’re saying now. It’s very weird to be happy to give up the name of your club to any sort of brand. Just a weird post all round really
