It’s already been said elsewhere on here, if the players are required by the club to stay then it’s free, if the players choose to stay on their own accord then there is a fee to pay

Thanks for pointing that out as I haven’t read this entire thread. Clickbait headlines then I guess.

So ****ing random Chelsea fan tweeted it. No journalist, just some random.

Every City fan’s marbles keep going on this sale. One day everyone is panicking over some twat of a Forest fan’s tweet. Today it’s some Chelsea goon

It’s either that or my autism is making me feel like people are being thick

I’ve just gone back a few pages of the thread to see what was said. A couple of us asked if there was a source for people saying it could be him and then a couple of others saying they would welcome it, I’m not seeing anyone saying they think it’s happening based on the fact he’s got rid of his stake in Chelsea.

Always makes me laugh when people say this. It’s an online forum, if you want actual news get yourself sitting on BBC website for 4 months for if/when something is confirmed.

Everyone having a cheery Thursday?

He loves tippy tappy sideways football so they might get on bearing in mind his managers were Enzo, Potter, Lampard, Rosenior got rid of the better managers Tuchel and Poch

He only appointed Potter, Eghbali/Clearlake (with Winstanley/Stewart as sporting directors) took a more active role from 2023 onwards and Todd wasn't (or was at least significantly less) involved in the sporting side.

I think you are getting the facility itself confused with the culture and leadership at the club.

It naive to think a facility itself can have no affect on culture.

What would your reaction be if the club made a statement that their solution was to either downgrade or move away from the facility to fix the entitlement culture?

Or the fact that we have slipped 2 divisions, despite having one of the best training facilities at the time in the country. You don’t exactly need inside information to see it’s been a problem. Previous reports of players turning up with dogs, confrontations with staff multiple times being reported.

Dismal history setting runs in the Prem, then longs runs in the championship without winning.

Its a culture problem, not a facilities problem, being teated like kings reinforced the feeling they were better than the league they were in, and it couldn't be their fault!

Leicester City takeover: What we know about £200m value and administration rumours
Football finance expert Dan Plumley assesses the Foxes' future

September 18,
LEICESTER, ENGLAND - SEPTEMBER 5:
Leicester City are a League One club eyeing a Premier League-level sale
Michael Hincks Sports writer

Leicester City’s owners must accept the reality that their 2016 fairytale counts for nothing when looking to sell the club.

King Power are actively seeking to end their 16-year reign of the Foxes, with investment bank Citigroup overseeing the sale.

A valuation of more than £200m had been reported in August, taking into account Leicester’s major assets, including their stadium and world-class training complex.

However, King Power chief executive and Leicester chair Aiyawatt “Top” Srivaddhanaprabha would be fortunate to receive anything close to that figure, with the club’s Premier League triumph a decade ago carrying far less weight than the fact they are currently a League One outfit.

“The valuation is on the high side,” Loughborough University sports finance expert Dan Plumley tells The i Paper.

“It’s probably more of a top-end Championship club valuation rather than their current position in League One. Revenue will have dropped compared to the Premier League days.

“However, they will be factoring in other assets that they own. The training complex is huge so there is some value in that.”

What is a fair price for Leicester City?
Plumley points towards Sheffield United’s £105m sale as a helpful comparison, although the Blades were top of the Championship at the time of their takeover in December 2024.

Leicester meanwhile are 13th in League One after six games, having suffered the ignominy of double relegation amid financial breaches and supporter protests.

The Foxes naturally hope to bounce back, but Plumley estimates potential buyers may chase a sale closer to £100m given the club’s current standing.

“It’s really tricky,” Plumley says. “I would assume the revenue would have dropped to around £80-100m. If you work off that and a small multiplier plus the training ground and assets, I think you could get to a rough estimate of around £130-150m.

“But if I’m the buyer, I’m probably trying to push that down to around £100m. All are estimates, though, and a lot of it is based on ‘feel’ and comparative sales like Sheffield United.”

Debts and administration threats
On Tuesday, Leicester confirmed they had converted £8.5m of owner debts into new shares. King Power also wrote off £194m three years ago.

“The owners have always supported the club financially and have written off debt in the past to help them financially,” Plumley adds.

Meanwhile, rumours of an administration threat seem far-fetched for now. The club were deducted six points last season for financial breaches, but a careful summer transfer window alluded to the Foxes addressing losses in previous years.

They sold Jeremy Monga to Manchester City for £10m in July, and spent just £4.7m on players compared to the £43m they made in sales.

“On administration, that comes down to cash to keep going day to day. We can’t see that from the outside looking in so it’s tough to say how bad it is,” Plumley says.

“Expect them to continue pushing to sell the club though, that’s clear. And probably some more player departures in the winter window if the club is still in limbo sale-wise.”

Who wants to buy Leicester?
Currently only Scottish-Indian businessman Neil Lal has publicly expressed his interest, telling Talksport his Bharat Consortium Group consortium – featuring three other investors – have made an offer.

“We are all wealthy businessmen,” Lal said last week. “We have contacted the board directly, which saves time. It is now a waiting game.”

On the reported £200m valuation, Lal added: “Leicester is valued as a successful Championship club, and yet it’s in League One. So, for me, the valuation is over the top.

“If, God forbid, Leicester ever drops down to League Two, financially, it’s Armageddon. It really is… My fear is if this [form] continues for the long term, over the next two to four months, and Leicester’s not playing well in the league, then unfortunately, we are going to have to review the situation and possibly walk. And I don’t want to do that. The foundations are there, but the problem is the financial stability is not.”

Daniel Storey: Leicester City ignored their fans. Now they are paying the price

Michael Hincks: Leicester City and the great £34m reset

The i Paper understands that no formal engagements have taken place with the club despite the reported expressions of interest.

Reports of Saudi boxing mogul Turki Al-Sheikh being sounded out, just weeks after he pulled out of a takeover of Derby County, also remain rumour for now.

The i Paper contacted both Leicester City and Citigroup for comment.

£100m Sheffield Wednesday warning that Leicester City’s owners be wary of

Leicester City’s owners King Power have put the club up for sale after 16 years in charge of the club.

But the Thai group must look to Dejphon Chansiri’s situation at Sheffield Wednesday just last year if they are to avoid repeating the same mistakes.

Covid put and end to that, all the work has been done with the land up to freemans common and the road infrastructure. It would have been crazy to do it at that time.

They have approval they haven’t done it yet let’s not green eyes just yet.

It’s also an estimated £790m to add 20k seats over 2 stages, highlight that’s an estimate so it will probably end up being close to £1bn by the time it’s finished & it wont be any where near as impressive as the Tottenham H stadium which cost the same.

Forest are not cemented in the premier league either all this is coming off the back of 1 semi decent season in the premier and only then did they finish 7th, but pay £1bn for a stadium and have just 1 bad 1 & they are in the shite.
West Ham are fortunate they have no substantial costs against their stadium otherwise they would be where we are in a season, so let Forest build it as it could be blessing for those that want to see them struggle in the future 🤷‍♂️

Deadline has passed. Will there be an announcement this weekend? We need some transparency.

Very doubtful

if anyone has actually expressed an interest then theres a lot of work to be done before anything would be disclosed. Perhaps months.  If we begin to creep up the table and citi stop actively marketing the club then that’s a hopeful sign.

Nothing should leak due to NDA

You won’t hear anything, it’s at least a six month process yet to happen, even when EFL approval happens you might not even know who the new buyer is until completion of the takeover

Leicester City takeover: Turki Alalshikh deal to get EFL approval 'pretty quickly'
Keith Wyness

20 Sep 2026,
Turki Alalshikh could potentially seal a swift takeover at Leicester City in the coming months.

That is according to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes that the Saudi Arabian billionaire would find it easy to get the necessary approval from the EFL.

This comes after Alalshikh pulled out of a bid to buy Championship side Derby County earlier this summer, despite being given the green light by both the EFL and the independent regulator.

However, Wyness believes that Alalshikh's "volatile" nature means that Leicester fans should "worry" about the prospect of him taking over, despite his eye-watering wealth.

The businessman blamed his failed attempt to buy Derby on a lack of time to prepare for the season, despite the regulator approving his takeover after just 55 days of the 90-day restriction.

Alalshikh is now being linked with the Foxes just months down the line, with Russell Martin's side currently sitting 13th in League One.

Turki Alalshikh's 'temperament' should concern Leicester
Everton’s former chief Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Alalshikh's fiery "temperament" should concern Leicester when it comes to the prospect of him becoming their new owner.

TalkSPORT reported earlier in September that the Foxes have "sounded out" Alalshikh about a potential takeover deal, with several other parties also in contention.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Wyness explained why Alalshikh buying into Leicester may cause more issues than it would solve.

"Turki's blotted his copybook now, I think with Bristol City and with Derby. He was approved by the regulator, although he said it took too long," he said.

"It was 55 days, as opposed to almost 18 months for Newcastle to get bought by the Saudis. So actually he had a pretty quick situation, and I'm sure if he were to get involved here at Leicester then he'd be approved pretty quickly given they've just recently looked into him for Derby.

"But I'd worry about his temperament and how he would be as an owner. I'd worry if I was a Leicester fan as to what would happen in the first bad run of form. Turki can be pretty volatile, as he's shown with the Derby situation.

"So I'd really worry about him as a potential investor coming in as well. I don't think he's the right solid type of person that Leicester would need for a turnaround and a comeback to where they were before."

If this Turki guy was to become the new owner that would be the end of my 60 years of supporting the club.

By virtue of the fact he is being spoken about freely in the press, and that football insider article is nonsense (saying he could be approved quickly 'if' his bid was accepted), i would presume there is no NDA in place with them and they do not feature strongly in the process.

It just feels inevitable. Once again Tops incompetence has put us into a situation where owners are going to wait us out until Top accepts a lowball bid, at which point he will be so desperate to sell he will probably sell us to any old charlatan to escape.
Death, Taxes, and Top only making a decision when it's too late.
