I know right. I can't get my head around the obsession with age on here anymore. We've a really young squad now, too young if anything. Two, three or even four older heads is good 14

The wages we'll end up paying him you could get Abdulmalik from Boreham Wood for £1m and wages IMO. Yep agree, wages wise etc... Also Burns has had injury issues. 1
CosbehFox Posted 5 August Posted 5 August (edited) No one is doubting the need for experience. What people are doubt is the injury record at 30+ and then it very much has one season, then depart vibes when the club needs a sustainable strategy which goes over a number of years (because promotion alone won’t solve the clubs lack of cash issues). We need some experience don’t we ? Ipswich fans love him. Fulham fans loved Reid, Palace fans loved Ayew and Swansea fans love Cullen. I'm scarred by these types who end up costing us big wages and don't improve us when they absolutely should. He's another urchin as well ar 5ft 5 or whatever. Of course i'l support him and the link up with Chaplin may work but gonna be grim watching us compete with these thugs who will spot an obvious weakness with us. 1
Gloria Posted 5 August Posted 5 August I think Morsy is a free agent, might as well get him in as well. Goodbye Southampton, hello Ipswich as our new obsession 🙃 1

Unfortunately, I fear Abdulmalik will end up at a higher ranked club than us, by the end of the window. I really wanted/want him, but he's getting massive exposure (well done agent) and he'll end up in the Champ IMO 2
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 August Posted 5 August You don't have to be over 30 to be an experienced head 3

Fwiw, if we can somehow get rid of Mavididi, he'd be an excellent signing.

FoxesWalk Posted 5 August Posted 5 August I do start to wonder if we’ve mistaken a knee surgeon for a football agent 2
FoxesWalk Posted 5 August Posted 5 August Maybe we can find our next striker on the patient list of Harley Street ACL surgery specialists

Reginaldo Posted 5 August Posted 5 August 32 in November. Surplus to requirements now they have Fatawu. Hope he is cheap…

I can understand Burns if fit is a good player although he has had a few other injury niggles last year after the knee problem. More concerned if we go back to Adebayo who has hardly played for a couple of years. Too great a risk to bring him in surely particularly if Bristol City not keen on him 1

You are basically left with new signings or keepers. I don't get peoples obsession with saying how old this team is. Edited 5 August by slymunn double picture 3
Brenfox Posted 5 August Posted 5 August For the right money this is a good signing. Not sure i trust the club to spend just 'the right money' though. 1

It was a decade. Apart from maybe Jonny Evans (and I think that's pushing it given how he phoned it in in 22/23) our record with these types of signings post-Pearson is atrocious 3
FoxesWalk Posted 5 August Posted 5 August Filter by > agency: already know them > age: 30+ > injury record: recent ACL > wages: any, we are the league one big dogs 1

Transfer model hasn't shifted one bit under McCarron I don’t like it when you’re serious, I immediately thought you were taking the piss and this was actually a loan signing
Popular Post CruzNoir Posted 5 August Popular Post Posted 5 August We are going to be playing 60+ games this season Players, young and Old, Academy and experienced are going to get game time ffs We’ve got some mega quality experience coming in to compliment our exciting younger players and Academy players I hear the worries about the wages and finances, but I think we are clearly hitting for glory to get out this league first time trying, it’s a risk considering our financial status is already mind blowing But I’ll tell you what, having a second season in league one would be worse so they are going all out quite visibly Wes Burns is a fabulous signing for this season, injury worries aside if we get 20 games out of them I’m sure his quality will be a great contribution for a promotion push 5
County Fox Posted 5 August Posted 5 August 11 minutes ago, FoxKent_88 said: But he's blocking a pathway... he's too old.... Sorry, but anyone wanting to rely solely on youth and expecting our inexperienced academy lads to earn promotion at the first attempt (a non negotiable BTW) needs a reality check. Over the course of 46 games we will absolutely need senior professionals with relevant experience. RM has spoken about due diligence of bringing in players with good character that fit his plans. There will be plenty of game time for younger pros, especially if we are dominating games. It'll hopefully be the perfect environment for them. Exactly this, we also have 'at a minimum' of 51 games this season, likely around 55 if we go a couple of rounds the Vertu. There will still be plenty of gametime for youngsters to play Come the end of the season, I wouldn't be surprised to see youngsters like Alves getting (25+ appearances), Braybrooke (35+ apps), Page (30+), Carr (20+ apps), Aluko (25+ apps), JJ (25+ apps), which is decent IMO 2
