With absolutely zero respect intended, Palace fans said the same thing about Ayew and Fulham fans said all the same stuff about Bob Reid. They are all shit :)

Well you know your own management best of course. Not heard of them two. Perhaps there is a reason for that.

But if, as has been suggested on here, he is required to pass back rather than skin a fullback and cross then you must draw your own conclusions.

Skinning and crossing is what he does. It is a bit like telling the keeper he cant use his hands.

Oh dear.

Then what has happened to him in the months he has been with the Foxes ?

He was there last May. Winning promotion to the Prem League.

It is all very sad. I am sorry for you. I am sorry for him.

Evidence so far would suggest he’s not.

If you are playing the final game of the season which you need to get promotion you do not play an iffy player. Wes was there on the pitch from the start which would suggest he was considered good enough.

He’s been poor but I think a different manager would get a lot more out of both him and others in the squad. At Ipswich they played in a way to create lots of space for him to attack quickly into, whereas we play slow and lethargic crab football.

Time and time again we play the ball to feet rather than pushing the ball through for him to run onto. When he first played he was more effective in getting the ball across but now the ball is played to feet it commits him to the dribble which is not particularly his strong point.

I think he would probably be ok with a run of games -

one of those that looks like they need 90 mins over and over and over again to be match sharp - he obviously has a final ball If he gets in the right position- the problem is we never actually break the lines in the final third and are asking him to be so deep - if we played more to his strengths and he was match fit he would be an asset

He looks like a player that’s slow, doesn’t move right and every bit a player coming off the back of an ACL. Either that, or he’s just not fit.

As an Ipswich supporter I am geninely staggered at this thread. That he is clearly not playing well is obvious.

But what has happened, seemingly over night, to a Town legend that we were sorry to see go ? When he was subbed in the last match of the season he had a standing ovation from all parts of the ground.

Having seen him for 3-4 years I know what he is capable of. Why is he not doing the same for you ?

Is he played out of position ?

Does he not suit your system ?

Is he carrying an injury ?

Is it a managerial problem ?

Motivation ?

I dont know. I'm not watching him now you are.

Never doubt his ability, in Div 1 he has it in spades.

By the way do you want McAteer back ?  We'll keep Fatawu. :)

We haven't got a system.

Just a Brussel😬

If he is not fit then it it your managements problem. Players, as they get older and yes, slower, then to use experience to get into the right  place earlier.

Our players not fit? How very dare you?!!! We have a world leading training centre/holiday camp complete with every luxury known to man. Players are attracted to our club to train/luxuriate in this state of the art facility.
Tbh I haven’t a clue what they get up to when they are there but supreme fitness is not evident in many of our players who seem to have run out of gas after 70 minutes. When the ref overtakes your struggling frame you know there’s a problem.

Not thinking like that at all. I have seen what he is capable of. As I have said on here many times I wish you and him well.

But if your management cant get better out of him it sounds like a "their" problem to me.

Pity all around.

Hes shit

He has had plenty of opportunties to take on his fullback with us and he either opts not to or gets tackled.

Harry Howell manages to run at his full back on that same wing under Martin so I don't think it's a manager issue.

Martin deserves most of the stick he gets but Burns's unwillingness to take on his fullback is not something to blame on him.

Love the Ipswich fans saying he played the last game of the season, he’s got to be half decent

Litwrally their first work in the summer was to sign a right winger and then a new managers comes in putting Burns 3rd choice in his position.

His legs are gone. He could be better though if he had an overlapping full back or a midfielder what would feed into the channel

he's just not interested in trying. You can blame the tactics to a degree, and certainly having the worst manager in the 92 doesn't help, but he can't even do the basics. He loses every 50/50 because he won't commit to trying to get to the ball. He can't beat a man for shit, won't break a sweat. Either he's fit only for the scrap heap, or his attitude is utterly shit.

He’s hating every minute of being here. Doesn’t want the ball, doesn’t want to tackle. Confidence on the floor.

Bet he likes the contract though. Said it when we signed him, bet he couldn’t believe his luck getting a 3 year deal a couple of months before turning 32.

We have just funded his retirement.
