He’s a RW, trying to cut inside with his right foot, because he hasn’t got the pace to around the outside of the defender.

He looked like he had a bit of a turn of pace at Notts County, then next time I saw play in the MK Dons game his legs seem to have gone. Something's not quite right.

Another 3 years of this shít btw. They just never learn,  we celebrate and cheer when we get rid of the latest deadwood, Ayew, Vestergaard, Daka, Bertrand just to name a few. But then we just go & replace it with more shite on the same length contracts we gave the previous terrible players.

Sat on a new deal at Ipswich but wanted to come here for League 1 football? Alarm bells straightaway, saw it as an easy path to retirement and if he’s fit, then I’m Usain Bolt.

It seemed odd that Ipswich gave him a new contract then sold him a month later for pittance. Wonder if they noticed a massive drop off in his physical levels in pre season or something?

For someone lauded by Ipswich fans as being a quick and direct winger, he looks nothing like that here. Yes he may be stymied a bit by the style of football, but he looks a mile off where he needs to be. As Ric nentioned earlier in the thread, he's towing a caravan.

Little bit of revenge for us absolutely having their pants down with the Kasey McaThomas deal

TBF somebody on here said his family wanted a change because his wife had a miscarriage in the summer (not gossip - his wife has been open about this).

As somebody who has been through a miscarriage, I can definitely vouch for it being a reason to look for a change.

Maybe also a reminder footballers are human and maybe we shouldn't be quite so critical - especially if a new player who is so well liked elsewhere.

The move made sense for him, but not us.

He only got a 1 year extension at Ipswich,  and i think that was more out of sentiment than anything. He was never going to feature much, if at all, and he will have known that.

Once that year was up, he'd likely be without a club.

We've come in and offered him a 3 year contract, which is likely lucrative, and with the guarantee of playing time.

We've offered him and his family security for another 3 years.

Its an absolute no brainer decision for him in my opinion.

But from us, an awful deal that most could see was a bad idea from the off.

I don't think my post was overly critical of the man? It's posting observations about how he looks on the pitch thus far, which is well below what we need.

His personal circumstances are obviously very sad, so with that said, and if he isn't mentally well enough to perform, then why are we putting him in the firing line.

The "liked at a previous club" comment bears no weight. We have 3 very recent examples of players well liked at previous clubs, Ayew (Palace) Reid (Fulham), and Skipp (Norwich) who have been lamentable with us.

The future of the club is allegedly at stake if we dont go up this season, we can't be carrying passengers at any level.

Sorry mate, I only quoted you to answer the question about the timing.

The rest of my post was intended to be more general, not directed at you.

Awful deal. I appreciate the need to get in some more experienced heads, but they need to be more than cheerleaders, we needed ready starters who could make a difference not over the hill mediocre players with the comfort of a 3 year contract. He was probably thinking about retirement after his 1 year until he was handed this bonus.
