Not only that but the same fans criticised anyone who dared to question the signing. It's another ridiculous signing and more dead wood we won't be able to shift as no doubt we are paying him about 25k a week.

As an Ipswich supporter I am geninely staggered at this thread. That he is clearly not playing well is obvious. 

But what has happened, seemingly over night, to a Town legend that we were sorry to see go ? When he was subbed in the last match of the season he had a standing ovation from all parts of the ground. 

Having seen him for 3-4 years I know what he is capable of. Why is he not doing the same for you ?

Is he played out of position ?

Does he not suit your system ?

Is he carrying an injury ?

Is it a managerial problem ?

Motivation ?

I dont know. I'm not watching him now you are.

Never doubt his ability, in Div 1 he has it in spades.

 

By the way do you want McAteer back ?  We'll keep Fatawu. :)

I think burns is just a bit old and shit - looks like he's moving in slow motion.

 

Kasey is a limited player but I'd have him back, not for 12m however (!). You can keep Fatawu.

He clearly cannot move quickly so why not get the ball out of his feet and just cross it in? We have a huge bloke in the middle available. Taking an age to do anything is not productive.

I am not at all disputing what you are saying about his current play but I find it very strange and puzzling.

Same bunch that thought Coady was a “solid pro” , Cooper would do a “job” and Skip was a decent signing for “our level” no doubt

I think his play style made him a player who'd likely age badly and we've given the weakest version of him the best contract of his career. It reminds me of West Brom fans really disliking Marc Albrighton.

Not thinking like that at all. I have seen what he is capable of. As I have said on here many times I wish you and him well.

But if your management cant get better out of him it sounds like a "their" problem to me.

I think he’s discouraged from crossing the ball as “ it’s putting it at risk “ , thus hampering his style as a push and run winger. Hope that’s the case anyway and the next manager off the rank encourages it.

He’s been poor but I think a different manager would get a lot more out of both him and others in the squad. At Ipswich they played in a way to create lots of space for him to attack quickly into, whereas we play slow and lethargic crab football.

Recon he’s discouraged from taking his man on and committing to a tackle as well?

 

The only part of the tactics which are letting him

down is the slow build up which means he’s got a more congested pitch.

To pass it back to the fullback where it’s recycled through two centre backs and out to the left back who’s closed down so gives it the keeper who slices it in to touch.
