That's a grotesque line-up, at least four names there I never wanted to see in our shirt again.

 

The only solace as far as the old lot goes is that we must have some sort of plan to keep Souttar if we're willing to throw him in for a cup game when prospective clubs would probably rather we nurse him.

 

I'm going to just focus on the new faces and pretend the rest don't exist.

Interesting that Souttar is captain. It sends a good message he is fit and trusted or could signal he is using time til January to prove his fitness and maybe then the club might accept an offer.

Will Mavididi show any belief that he can beat his full back or will we get last seasons tepid version who just plays safe / goes AWOL and occasionally cuts across the box and curls a shot yards over the bar?  Needs to fancy it and believe in himself, hopefully Martin has higher standards than giving out a free pass to do nothing and still get selected for the next game. And Thomas? What minute will be the goal gifting error, come in, I’m going for 37th?

Need Watson fit enough to start over Mavididi, and a real striker rather than bob the throb in asap. Ideally a centre back who doesn't play in concrete boots to replace Okoli but surely at like 15m he should be able to not disgrace himself against league two sides.

Well, for the club to actually do their business in plenty of time so we aren't subjected to BDCR up top. That would have been nice. Any competent club should have sealed Bristriç's signing weeks ago knowing the season starts today. Or at least had the brains to keep the youth player banging them in during pre-season until the deal was done.

 

This is LCFC though, three months is clearly not enough and they probably thought we wouldn't notice, considering nobody could call either of our options last year a striker with a straight face.
