He is and he isn't.

I believe that he was the catalyst behind this club's downfall, but this ownership allowed for it to happen. The buck ultimately stops there.

Of course

But if BR hadn’t gone into self sabotage mode then there wouldn’t have been a decision for Top (not) to make

Think our fans really really overestimated our youth, and that is not a slight on them. They looked raw which will be worked out of them, and is exactly why people have stuck up for signing the likes of Burns and Cullen. The first month or two is not going to be seamless and I expect we will get stronger as the year goes on, so long as our fans don’t turn. Before anyone says it, I’m fully KP and Rudkin out and think we have been a disgrace for a long time, but thats what turning the corner from such a massive shitshow looks like

Thought Alves and Joseph started pretty well, Braybrooke was very good throughout and Aluko looked good when he came on, can't name a senior player that played better than Braybrooke especially

Badly need a striker.

Dominated the game overall, sloppy pass almost gifted them a goal to go 1-0 up.

Think they were better than a good chunk of the senior lads but that is how I saw the game as a whole play out so tightly. All talented in their own rights but to expect a full team performance this early isn’t fair on them

Really impressed by Braybrooke , always looking to find space and pick up the ball , Alves showed flashes as well

Reid and Mavididi need to do one

I can't be arsed listening to any whingers.

Braybrooke, Alves, Joseph and Watson were all very impressive.

We need to give them time to iron out mistakes and await the signing of a striker.

I'm enthused that the youngsters were as good as they were. Like new signings.

Agree as long as he never plays mavadidi again.

These players were never meant to play out from the back.

It is Martins downfall that he wants to play that way but doesn't have the talent to do it.

Okoli & Souttar just don't have the quality to do it & Skipp is not capable of making a forward pass.

Martin needs to adapt his system to the players he has ..Sticking with a system that keeps failing is ridiculous.

Apparently Top loved his bullshit ...

More of the same crap football that has seen us relegated two seasons in a row and is beyond tedious to watch

I'm going to make a recommendation Jim, and I know it might be a bit of a bolt out of the blue, but if you find it beyond tedious to watch, maybe don't watch it?

badly need a striker and another CB

also the left side again is going to be a massive issue if Mav and Thomas start,

Watson looked miles better than Mavididi and Thomas was once again awful

neither shuld be anywhere near the starting 11

Would love for one of these supposed tactical geniuses to give us a nice long breakdown as to exactly what they would be doing different with the team, you know to play this exciting brand of football that they are craving to watch.

Thomas awful?😂 I missed the first half but don’t remember him doing any thing particularly bad in the second half.

Jeez, never seen such a negative fanbase. Team not the finished article undergoing a full playing style change. Managers just had his first game, what’s saying how he’s out of his depth going to achieve.

Players clearly want to play for him with who we’ve been signing when they should be going to teams a division higher, get a striker in and get behind the team and we will go up automatically.

Realistically we’re operating on a tight budget and having to be more creative in the window none of which is Martins doing. Saying he’s out of his depth is laughable, he’d walk into a championship job.

Probably the same fans who said Brendan Rodgers was the worst thing that ever happened to the club.

In comparison to the rest of the league, one thing we aren't doing is operating on a tight budget!

Apart from JJ the whole defence was shaky. Could had been 1-0 down within 15 seconds due to Souter’s brainless pass to their player. When playing across the back, we look a car crash in waiting. Why does Thomas always come infield and block off everyone’s space? Can he make a forward pass? Least said about BDR and Mavididi the better. I was hoping to see a reset with more constructive and positive play. Sadly saw more of the same from the last 2 seasons. We need a couple of strikers. Can’t the management see that?

How would I have known it was tedious then? I had a hope that it wouldn’t be, alas, it seems the club hasn’t learnt anything over the last two seasons

Why would you continue to watch something every weekend if you find it "beyond tedious" to watch?

They want every pass to be forward, every time a player gets the ball for them to successfully take their player on and for us to swing inch perfect crosses into the box onto a strikers head for a goal each time. I hope this helps.

He doesn’t pass forward. He has two operations. Pass back or bring the ball inside which clogs everything up. He’s left footed, why doesn’t he use it to play forward and get us on the front foot with more urgency? There were three or 4 occasions when he had oceans of space to run forward, but turned back or played a sideways pass.
