A part of me is, not sure if I have the love for football anymore though.

Feel the same. It just gets more corrupt by the years.

It's hard as it's only due to gross incompetence that we have ended up back in this division so I'm not going to get too excited if we're beating opponents who should be no match for us. The thing I'm most looking forward to is to hopefully seeing players who are ambitious and keen to play for our club and want to be successful here as a part of their own progress

Following the actual kick-off, I predict the first moan on Foxestalk at 12.32 pm.  First reference to RM out at 14.02 pm.

We've had loads of Martin out posts from day one

As a few have said, the way football has gone and the clear corruption and favouritism at the top of the game plus our gross mismanagement leaves a sour taste. But I inherited my passion for this club from 4-5 generations before me, and I’m a stubborn bugger so Aiyawatt and Rudkin won’t take that away from me - although they’ve come pretty close.

We go again, I suppose.

I think it’s important to remember that what we’re seeing now is really just the first step in rebuilding the squad. The team we see today, and probably for much of this season, won’t be the finished product, and there’s still plenty of work to do.

There are still several players who need to move on, while we also need to see whether the younger players can step up and develop as we hope. There are questions around some of the incoming players too, which will only be answered once we see them play regularly.

It’s going to take time, and I think we need to judge the rebuild over a longer period rather than expecting everything to click immediately.

That’s right, there’s always what I call the “false start” to the season regardless of where you’re at but even more so in our extreme situation right now. Not all of these players will be here after the window closes and those who have arrived are at different stages of readiness possibly tactically as much as fitness wise, the selections will also still be looking at minutes in the bank for some. In short the line up won’t reflect the long term pecking order.

I just hope that if the likes of Braybrooke, Joseph, Alves and Aluko get to play and impress that they get all the encouragement and reward they deserve with repeated selection rather than turning to those who have let us down so badly.

Yes it's difficult to be super positive when we still have such utter shite in the squad and most likely team.

Reid, Cullen and the new lad being the attacking options and Russell being happy is a huge red flag - I hope to **** it's a red herring.

Also, I fear we do not have the players to play the way the manager wants to play - I can see a lot of poor goals conceded again and for us goals hard to come by and we continually **** about with the ball without doing anything with it.

Last week there was so much effort in some times just passing the ball backwards!

I hope I'm wrong and turning into a total miserable old bastard

TBH, that’s why I’m more excited by this season. The lower the leagues, the less corrupt the game is really. The EPL is beyond stacked against the smaller clubs now.

I am! Massively! I always do.

Because I'm a fool.

Hope and dreams is a big part of being a football fan ........ we've just had the shit kicked out of us for 3 1/2 seasons out out 4 - even the purple patch for the 1st half of the 2023 / 2024 season a lot of people didn't massively enjoy
