3 of the main things not to look forward to this weekend for me personally 

 

- if BDCR starts up front

- the eye bleeding football at the back if its Souttar and Okoli pairing.

On Leicester City:

“It’s a fascinating story in the sense that ten years ago they were Premier League Champions. I can safely say that for the last three to four months of that season I was a Leicester City fan.

“From their perspective it’s sad to see them in League One, but I think they made the right appointment with Russell Martin. I love his courage and single-mindedness in terms of how he wants his teams to play. They should be favourites for the title with the money they’ve spent and the talent that they’ve got.”

This is what i think it will be. I'd sooner see Page factored in than Skipp, and the CB position remains a horror show. I'd rather have Stolly but pretty sure 'experience' is going to win out in the GK position.

 

All i ask is that i can enjoy myself tomorrow. Be nice to be a good game and a good result. If we struggle again its going to be downbeat.

Most games will be a lottery, we will win some obviously but there will be a lot of frustrating draws (it wouldn’t surprise me if we draw more games than we win) and we will lose a few. 
 

I can see another draw in this one.

FFS this is league 1, not the champions league. 

 

If RMs team can't beat Burton at home he can fcuk off.

You will be complaining when you see how far adrift we are of the top 2 : 10 games in.. facts are we need to go on a winning run no excuses as far as I am concerned.

I agree.

 

But separate the club and even its resources despite current circumstances from the approach we are taking.

 

The club, if run sensibly (well if it was we wouldn’t be here) and taking the right approach should decimate this league.

 

But with the squad we have, the gaps and weaknesses and the approach of dicing with death at the back whilst not getting forward quick enough to trouble opponents before they get back and set, I’m not so sure.

Agree, League 1 doesn't need RMs over complicated approach, he's not try to outsmart Pep. I think most teams will set-up in a low block against us at home. 

 

We have better players, if we adopt a fast attacking tempo playing to the players strengths we will win. 

 

But if he plays like the last 2 games we'll struggle to score when the defense is dominating 70% of attempted passes or touches.

Let's just get you in as gaffer shall we? You sound like you could coach them and set them up better than our manager could.

Forgot we had a game on Tuesday as well against Ipswich… wonder if Chaplin will be held back for that one given he’s not played much recently. Can see Russell sticking with more or less the same XI as last week, with some of the newer lads getting a run out on Tuesday. Hopefully will have a new CB to bring in by then as well.

I'd swap Okoli for Aluko. Can't do any worse surely

Sorry if not clear. This was more or less a full change XI for the league cup game. Not saying it’s what I would do… although yes I would play those three tomorrow 100% and then rest them in the week.

I mean we know teams will get back and put a low block behind the ball.

 

Our options are to play with pace and a high tempo, pressing high to win the ball and catch them before they can set or if we are playing from the back, trying to beat the lines quickly which is what the aim was

more under Maresca.

 

Or, adopting a slower pace as seems to be the case, we are letting the opposition have all the time to get themselves set and comfortable. At this point you lose any element of surprise and are literally trying to play through them.

 

I don’t think suggesting this is too out there and indicative that they think they could coach the team….
