I reckon a 1-1 draw at best today

This will then lead to panic loan deals

Veteran Centre half and veteran Centre forward

I can definitely see a scenario where Thomas and Reid both start again. With Ipswich on Tuesday i can see McFarlane and Bristric both starting that instead and RM keeping the same team today.

I really really hope not, I’d even accept Reid starting if it meant Thomas was binned off. Thomas was absolutely diabolical last week, you can’t put in a performance like that and expect to keep your place. The fact Notts County knew to target him, rather than a young academy lad making his debut at right back says so much about him as a footballer

You just have to accept that there will be times today where we will be utter dogshite.

Any of the players from 5 years ago never mind 10 would be the 1st name on the current team sheet and be several levels above the dross that will be served up today.

I love the sense of anticipation and excitement you get about this time of the day of a match. Historically it gets tempered slightly when the team sheet comes out then is smashed by full time. But let’s see what today brings!!

Some really odd people in this thread, start of the season should be when you are full of the art of the possible and positivity.

Some people are desperate to be negative.

Recent history shows we are right to feel negative, extremely difficult to feel positive about our sh*tshow of a club presently.

I just know I will walk out the ground disappointed today.Would be great to leave after a resounding victory watching fast flowing attacking football but what are the chances?

Don’t need a centre forward 😉

Random question but im taking my young kids for the first time, are they allowed to take kids drinks bottles into the ground?

They seemed to go through a phase of not caring, then not allowing open bottles but not sure where they ended the season or will start this one. Reality is it’ll be busy getting in so if they put them in their pockets I’d be staggered if they got pulled up for it.

Take a backpack or something mate, they'll have a look through but let you in.

Par for the course especially on this board.  Even, if you try to be positive you will get dragged down by peoples negativity.  I genuinely believe a lot of people on this board are not Leicester supporters at all.

We will win comfortably 2 0 today.

My daughter usually takes a metal flask of hot chocolate in her backpack for the winter games and we’ve never been stopped.
just keep them out of direct sight and you should be fine.
And before anyone says anything, no she’s not from coach one 😂

You can't possibly ignore the context of the past few seasons, and the performances in our past 2 games.

It does somewhat temper any excitement or enthusiasm when grounded in reality!

Why bother going then?

Sunderland fans would have said the same 4 years ago at the start of their last season in league 1

It will turn around at some point.

Would love to see the high press we were doing in the early part of pre season (before Bobby was masquerading as a false 9) back whenever we lose the ball. We actually looked somewhat decent doing it.

Every season gives a chance of a new possibility and a change of momentum.

I'm excited to see more of Alves, Braybrooke and Joseph, chuck in the like of Aluko and Page.

I expected to have a good season, will it be tough or boring a time a 100% it will.

5 or 6 years ago Sunderland and Ipswich fans would have been feeling the same in L1.

Things can change.

I don't disagree.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of our talented youth, hoping we are able to ship out those on big wages who don't want to be here, and get players in who can play in the style required.

We'll soon find out!

I was very positive seeing us in pre season, but the last 2 games has given us an idea of how we will be playing this season. It's going to be a slow ponderous game. We should win but how many times have we said that.
