Clearly there's quality in this team. The build-up play was often nice. We had some nice touches in and around the box.

 

But, as has often been our problem in recent years, we desperately need some cutting edge. I think Alves, Watson, Howell and Braybrooke can develop it. Burns needs to rediscover it. I think Chaplin will be OK if he can ever get fit.

 

But we can't rely on Bristric, Cullen and BDCR. Reid and Cullen aren't regular goalscorers and Bristric clearly needs time to get acclimatised to the league. We need a plug and play goalscorer before Tuesday and I think then things might slot into place.

 

Of course we do also need other players in other areas to better fit the system and replace players that might leave, like Faes, Okoli and/or Souttar. But a goalscorer is our glaring weakness right now, for me.

I know there was a few hundred of us in the home end but not a chance was that ground at 55% capacity

We are nearly, nearly there. Braybrooke is special. Page is way, way more comfortable than skipp at the base of midfield. Thomas had a really good game, souttar is far more comfortable on the right side of defense. Mcfarlane solid. Alves and Howell have to start next game.

It felt like we start the game as we are 2-0 up at kick off. No urgency whatsoever against a poor team. It felt like the last ten mins we actually put our foot down a little and showed some willing to go and grab the game. Just had a cracking thunderstorm waiting to get back on the M1 though so not a totally wasted day.

Yes they were, but Martin and someone on Radio Leicester said they’ll be up there at the end, if that’s true it auger’s well , because that was a good fast moving display in the main and if the final third was slightly more polished we’d have won easily. I hate tippy tappy, but that performance was not that.

Page superb, Braybrooke excellent, both fullbacks and centre backs decent , Bristric good back to goal and improved. Both wingers poor I thought and Alves and the Brighton kid looked much better. 
I can’t believe that MK are going to be any good but if they are then we’ll win plenty this season. Still need another striker though.
