For me, the negativity set in when I was about to buy a ticket for Rotherham (h) in the first season back in the Championship and it was going to be as much as I paid to see us in the Roma UECL semi final. No thanks.

Yesterday wasn't even slightly dull too watch.

First two games yes.

Then he dropped the players that can't play that way then we got it forward.

Look, I wasn't convinced by Russell, but I'm open minded, and yesterday was a vast improvement and it's on field those things happen

But do you think the quality of the opposition played it's part? As I'm not going to sugarcoat it, MK were awful, probably the worst side I've seen in a very long time.

I do hope I'm wrong as I want us to win games and I don't want to go through another manager. But my worry is I  think the quality of opposition made us look better. I genuinely felt frustrated with our play. I'm just hoping it's players getting used to each other. It was better than Burton that is for sure, but see it live I found it very boring way to play.

Big test of my theory will be Tuesday, as Plymouth won't be as useless and are one of the better sides in this division. Win that and I'll happily hold my hands up and say I was wrong, and I want to be.

Without stating the obvious

back to back relegations

lowest position in the clubs history

still think the clubs on the verge of bankruptcy

failing to beat any of the fellow relegation fodder in front of us

why wouldn’t you

I am not convinced Martin is the manager we need .... however he must be given time to settle things .... the turmoil of the manager merry go round over the past few years and the total diabolical mis management and decision making with the club are not Martins fault..... the common denominator of it all are Top ... Rudkin and the board none of which will ever take any responsibility for the mess .... financially we haven't got a pot to pi55 in and King power will not invest any funds .... so until we have a new owner we are stuck with what we have ...... like it or not

The only two that I can remember are BDCR when he was through and ****ed it and Braybrooke when he was through after Bristric had dragged one of their CB's with him.

It's incredibly difficult to get in behind a low block of 5 as the space in behind the back 5 is minute, but also there's such little space to play passes between the lines when the midfield 3 are effectively shutting off any gaps.

We're going to have to get better at a) taking our chances when we create them. B) being able to shift the opposition out of their spacings in the low block. C) being a bit more daring when a space does open up. D) when one of our creative/skillful players does take it past a player, finding the right pass to capitalise.

This is it. I am surprised it has barely been mentioned but for me, I had no problem with how we played in 2/3’s, it was the final third.

I felt we made it very easy for MK due to a good half our team being on top of each other, playing in the same space. The whole midfield was playing so high up the pitch (which in itself is good as it shows we are dominating) so you had Braybrooke, Page and Chaplin/Cullen. But then Bristvic was quite deep, Watson particularly was cutting into the same space every time and McFarlane was also there as presumably he was inverting.

Small changes to this, without changing the fact we would still dominate possession and passing stats could make us more dangerous.

Firstly, I’d have McFarlane going down the outside. I have never liked the inverted full back but get it might have its place if adding depth in the middle to avoid being caught out. But that wasn’t happening against MK and meant we both lacked an outlet stretching them down our left and contributed to the congestion in the middle. By stretching them, it would pull their defence apart and give more space for midfield runners.

I also think it’s unnecessary for the striker to constantly be as deep. When we did get the ball in the box, I often thought where is he. Again, for linking play it is good for Bristvic to be able to play back to goal and contribute but not when it is adding to the congestion in that same space again around the 18 years box.

Look, I don’t know tactics. I just know what I saw. I picture a scenario in games like that where we have both full back stretching their defence by showing intention to overlap, giving the wingers space to be in the pockets and the likes of Chaplin and Page to get more space on the edge or just in the area for pull backs. Ultimately, for all the ball we had, most of this was outside the area and resulted in distance shots rather than numbers getting in the box.

I haven’t called for Martin out yet. I am supportive of the players. But that doesn’t mean I am not concerned that the longer the winless start to the season goes on, the more it could end up like previous seasons.

I’m sure though that many on here will just see this post and think negative boo boy as I haven’t said everything is great so I’m not sure why I bother…

All I can say then is stay away, the clubs up for sale but as I said it’s not a fiesta on auto trader and will take time, If you can’t wait why go or comment in the meantime 🤷‍♂️

It’s a fans forum….. if you don’t like someone’s opinion just ignore it…. There’s plenty of negativity surrounding the club at the moment…..

Its like any workplace that has a change of manager every 6-9 months, along with a vast number of outgoing staff, it would take anyone a while to settle things down.

But it’ll never happen with the current regime. Any young player who shines this season will be off the next.

Still to move on Souttar, Faes, Mavididi, Thomas, Skipp, Reid and Choudhury. It just shows how utterly rancid our recruitment policy has been for years. None of these deserve a shirt here.

'See where we are after 10 games.'

If no wins in the next 10, and 36 games left we would need to win a total of 16ish  to avoid the drop (+40%) or 30ish to promote (+80%).

No wonder bookies have reduced odds on relegation.

You don't think we are going to win a game in the next 10 games?

The striker dropping @LCFCJohn is designed to create space for any of the higher four midfielders to run into.

Clear example of that happening was in the first half when Souttar picked out Braybrooke.

I agree on the inverting fullbacks; Martin clearly wants a 2-3 base to protect against transitions, so with only one holding midfielder that means both fullbacks inverting.

That seems a waste when I’d say all 4 of our fullbacks would pose a strong threat going forward and force teams trying to defend to spread their defence a little more.

As it was, MK Dons were able to defend the middle with relative comfort.

Yeah it was. I think the frustration was not so much how we played but the fact that MK Dons were one of the worst teams I’ve ever witnessed live and the fact we couldn’t beat them was beyond belief. We could still be playing now and we wouldn’t have scored.

the buildup play and the way the full backs pushed on was encouraging but my god RM needs to find a way tactically to create more clear cut chances otherwise he and the players can expect more booing.

I’m fairly convinced that Bristric scores than one on one in the first 10mins and that’s on the manager for starting the game with our weakest striking option. If that goes in then the confidence flows and we likely score 2-3 more as MK would have had to change their negative low block

Tbf MK are predicted to be in the play offs this season. Don’t judge teams by how they set up against us. We are most teams fa cup final but a ‘final’ where a draw is a win for them.

I know this could be controversial, but I find some of the constant negativity in the stands tiresome. Barely 5 minutes in, and people are shouting sarcastic comments about the style of football. I get that the last 4 years have been shocking but we are where we are, and I still want us to do well.

I feel like a lot of the fans' expectations are all wrong, where anything other than 46 wins is a failure, which is never going to happen. I was frustrated with yesterday, but out of all the performances over the years, I don't think it warranted people shouting/swearing at the players/manager throughout and at the end.

I'm not sure all the noise and negativity is helpful for the on-field stuff. I get people are entitled to feel how they feel, but for their own sanity, if they feel so negatively about the club, especially on-field performances, then why do you still go?

Loads of young players in the side on Saturday including 6 lads from the academy featuring who are all being asked to play a very specific way by their manager. The second they do what they are being asked of them morons in the crowd start groaning, swearing and whinging.

Do you think your helping create a positive environment to help these young players grow and develop?

The fans have rightly picked over every element of the club that's rotten and not been shy in dishing out blame. They have been slow to look in the mirror and acknowledge they are a part of the problem.

Yeah I get that re the striker so wasn’t dismissing it as a tactic and saying the striker shouldn’t. But we didn’t see enough of midfielders going beyond. I was never a massive fan of Enzo ball in some ways but KDH and Ndidi getting forward was a great part of that.

I’m genuinely not being negative. I like the fact we have a young side, I support them. I’m indifferent to Martin. I like the fact he is playing youngsters but not a fan of his unwarranted ego and stubbornness but still want him to do well as why wouldn’t any of us want that?

But I won’t lie to please people on here and say if we replicate that 43 more times that we will get promoted as I don’t believe that. If we can tweak things as we have discussed and stretch opponents more, I will have more confidence. There will likely be pitches we play on that are very narrow but for home games and away games like MK where the pitch was wider, I really think we need to look at the positions and movement in the final third as we can’t go on like that on Saturday where we have half the team on top of each other.

I feel less negative so far this season. I'm liking the youngsters in the team, and the endeavour and effort being shown now, which has been missing for the last few years.

I do think we are playing with more attacking intent, yes we're possession based but we are have having more attempts at goal and lots of possession in and around the opposition area, it's just that quality shot or final ball that's missing. But I do feel we will improve on that front, we just need that first result and lady luck on our side. Wouldn't suprise me if we go on and win the next two and never look back.

Watson, jj, Howells, baybrooke, alves but a few that look like they have a real future and will improve.

So for now, I'm still optimistic that this season won't follow the pattern of the last few years.

If results haven't improved over the next few weeks, I may change my mind. But right now, there is some hope to cling onto so that's what I'm going to be doing.

I mean the answer is surely to keep the negativity but make sure it's directed primarily at King Power and Rudkin. The 'takeover' news seems to have dampened people's willingness to direct the vocal frustration at the people responsible for the situation, which like the appointment of a completely incompetent and unlikable manager, is probably exactly what it was designed to do.

You think that Top and Rudkin deliberately picked a bad manager in order to deflect negative attention away from themselves?

No I was obviously getting a bit carried away when I wrote that :sweating:, but I think ‘most football fans can’t stand him’ might have been in the positives column for them for that reason.

Did they make that choice to get paid that money every week or put the hard graft in as kids to get where they are.

If it works like that I choose to be the next Thor when Chris Hemsworth retires

Also it's the old men at the club that have been the issue

Hard graft so one day they can live their dream which conveniently includes being paid a fortune.

All that hard graft seems a waste if they can be derailed by a few boos.

Making money does not shield someone from psychological effects of criticism.

I’d also point out that if the criticism vented is primarily designed to illicit better performance; there’s not much evidence it’s working.

Was expecting this.

Missed the point snowy, these lads choose the opportunity and the money.

Do they think it's going to be all happy clappers and brown noses???

I've been a supporter since 1961 and have experienced many seasons of disappointments but the last three hit new lows, I don't blame the players it's about lack of financial control and bad management.

The tactics are frustrating and team selections baffling, we now have more young talent in the team since the Jock Wallace days but they aren't being coached correctly.

Positives: getting to see Braybrooke, Alves, Page and Joseph on the pitch, getting decent minutes and actually outperforming more experienced players.

Negatives: EVERYTHING else to do with Leicester City.
