I’ve lost count of how many players we’ve signed this window…. Is that 11 or 12 now?

14 if this is confirmed.

Did this deal go through?

No news on Faes or Okoli ?

Therefore have a big squad with lots of competition for places. Particularly Defensively and Midfield.

No one knows, Martin seemed confident, but it could have changed during the game. It could have been close to getting done, but the club cancelled it during the game. So Martin was non the wiser.

Martin has clearly decided that he wants Faes nowhere near the squad so I’m fairly confident they will agree a cut price move to Turkey or Saudi or mutually terminate his contract.

Okoli might have to stick it out for another 5-6 months before leaving for Italy in Jan.

I reckon O’Hora still gets done

Wouldn't be against this not happening to be honest. We've strengthened in midfield and attack.

Thomas has shown he will be fine at cb, and Souts is staying. We've a few days of the Turkish window left to try and find Faes or Okoli a way out, but its likely we are stuck with one or both of them, so may aswell just stick with using them or even an academy player like Gray rather than this guy. But at the same time its a small fee so I guess its not the end of the world either way

Edit.. plus we have Kanga too.

Dont feel another cb is needed tbh

I’d agree if we were going to put ourselves in financial shit. But otherwise, perhaps it’s being over thought a bit?

There’s loads of games and Gray and even Kangasniemi are young and the latter come from a very different league. Neither may expect to play much.

Regardless of what has happened this deadline day or in the case of Faes, whether he goes to Turkey or gets terminated, longer term the position is quite unstable. Faes, Okoli and Souttar you’d imagine won’t be here beyond this season so it’s quite good to have some succession planning for once!

Pretty happy with the signing after glancing through multiple reactions from the Hibs fans.

For once it seems like we've signed someone who isn't a project or a has been and is someone who can go straight into an 11 and do the job asked of him.

I know LT has had 2 clean sheets and 2 fairly solid games at centre half but he's built like a 14 year old and is currently being bailed out by the fact that the opposition is actually shite.

Then we've got Souttar who hasn't had the best time here fitness wise and at multiple times throughout this window was linked with a move away.

That leaves bombscare Okoli , an inexperienced Kanga and some youth players. Faes will never play for this club again.

We're 1/2 injuries away from this area being even more of a liability.

Good business for once. Hats off!

Confirmed. I mean hes gotta be a better option that what we are running with currently. Seems fairly highly thought of

Souttar will be one of our first choice CBs, with the other slot presumably taken either by O'Hora or Kangasniemi. Thomas has stepped up admirably but it's not his position we shouldn't need to use him there again.

Hopefully a solid recruitment but won't know until we see him in the league.  Him and Souttar battling it out for RCB, Kangasniemi and Thomas(?) for LCB.  Okoli as spare as long as we don't loan him out.  Faes... if we can't loan him out just terminate his contract and get rid. Worried we were going to be short of CB's but should be fine now.

Hoping Thomas’ role becomes 4th choice CB/2nd choice LB, no chance McFarlane should be dropped

McFarlane was gassed later in the 2nd half (as a lot of the younger players were).

There is going to have to be a lot of rotation.

Agreed if we are going to play with a high intensity we need to have good options on the bench to freshen things up and also be able to heavily rotate especially when we are playing 3 times in a week.

This should be correct but I do wonder if there’s any chance we attempt something like this

                        Jakub

          Kanga.   Souttar O’Hora

jj.                                                   McFarlane

                  Braybroke.     Page

        Howell.                            Alves

                                 Riis

I think the formation change is unlikely at this stage but you never know if the manager was just waiting for the right men through the door

I'm not sure that Russell Martin has ever changed hos tactical approach, let alone his actual formation.

Kanga will be slowly integrated.. id imagine you take him out and switch to Lundstrum and you have your 11... he will work Chaplin back in when fit but I prefer this 11.. importantly we do now have a decent bench too
