Even with a pretty tepid start (performance and results wise), JJ has been one of our biggest positives.

He's actually quite quick as a right back and I saw glimpses of where he's willing to take on his opposite number and a few times in the Stockport game he did it and beat his man

Got to feel for Aluko but JJ is clearly our first choice RB.

 

Wouldn’t say no to Aluko having a run at LB.

 

Aluko rightly or wrongly hasn’t ever played a period of consecutive games and a great learning curve for any player, let alone a youngster.

Aluko probably would’ve benefitted from a loan but not sure there is anyone else in the squad that covers the positions he does. I expect him to have a big part of the season when an injury occurs

Probably because that season was, up until recently, so traumatic that details have been erased. 2006-07 was towards the end of what was probably the worst period for City since I started going in 1986.

It was much worse than the current horrificness, in my view. The lack of quality in the players, year after year, made it so, so, so boring. The slow decline that started in around 2003 (and arguably already when MoN left) and inevitably led to the relegation in 2008 was such an awful, slow death without a single bright spark for years.

At least our current demise has been rapid. No less painful, but quicker. 2003-2008 was grim beyond words.
