As "romantic" as this sounds, it can easily create a 'too many cooks' structure where too many people have their own ideas/agendas that nothing ever gets agreed or executed.

Ideally, we want an individual or collective group of individuals with deep pockets and a long-term vision, if they have experience with sporting clubs then even better.

As someone who as experience of collective ownership models I wouldn’t say it was romantic. It’s often quite boring and complicated but with good structure and systems it can work really well.

using cliches like too many cooks to shut down a conversation which could further new ideas is about as cool as suggesting we need another sugar daddy.

I would encourage people to do their own research because it’s always interesting to think speculatively about new ways of organising

there are many things in the world that used to work that no longer work and many things that didn’t used to work but are amazing now.

thinking about what community ownership would look like for LCFC shouldn’t be off the table just because it hasn’t worked for other teams because they are different teams.

I meant that the big reason for our failures is that literally everything is left to one person. Granted he now has some help with McCarron but everything has been put on Rudkin (with nobody really for him to delegate things to) for years and he's persistently made errors in that time.

If we want to be successful then we need an ownership who will set up a proper structure here as opposed to "give it to one bloke and hope he's decent".

I wouldn’t say that the issues are that most footballing issues were delegated to one person, but that most footballing issues were delegated to the wrong person. Having the right person in charge would solve many of the issues we have faced.

Th3 club supposedly being up for sale is to appease the fans

Hmmmmm you can actually see it happening come the September deadline it is leaked numerous ‘unsavoury’ characters and consortiums with not the best interests of the club at heart came forward and we couldn’t allow the club to be handed over to ‘parasites’ instead we will stay to recover the legacy of Vichai …… I could see and hear the KPFC lot lapping it up and fans who had recently been swayed towards new ownership returning to tie the line under the guise of be careful what you wish for etc etc.

The KP outers lose the initiative and the uprising is snuffed out, and no doubt many will just self exile and the club will be pleased to have lost the dissenters.

Don’t get good vibes about the consortium. So hoping that falls through.

Ageeed. Beggars can be choosers - while I want King Power out asap, there's no point if their replacement is crap.

Turki Alalshikh being linked by TalkSport. Probably just because he was interested in buying Derby but stranger things have happened.

Tbh I wouldn't really care if we got bankrolled by by a morally dubious person / regime. Sportswashing is so common in football now I don't even think about it, and certainly not worth going into the abyss to avoid.

Him saying they’d pull out if results don’t improve doesn’t suggest full commitment to buying does it …

I think its the reality of the situation. If in 2 months time we are already out of promotion contention and looking more likely to go down i can fully understand why an investor would think twice. The value of the proposition is that we will get back to the prem in as little time as possible. Another year in league 1 or (possibly league 2) vastly drops any realistic view this could be a quick turn around

I really don't see anyone paying an inflated price as well as assuming the clubs debts anytime soon. I fully expect the club to go into receivership before a sale happens. Top has screwed everything else he has touched & I expect him to make a mess of selling the club as well.

Unfortunately for KP, they hung on to our best players too long instead of selling at the top of their value and reinvesting the money.

The spiral stems from that and now we have KP trying to sell the club at what it was worth in the Premier League rather than as a League One club that has yet to provide the evidence that it has arrested the slide down the divisions.

Nobody is going to pay what they want. So either they sell for a vastly reduced price, or they drive us out of existence. Past behaviour says the latter is more likely.

I'd hope that administrators would be able to force through an acquisition that is more realistic. And then it could be anybody buying us, from a consortium of local businesses and real fan representation to a petrostate looking for a bargain and/or a sportswashing opportunity.

I t's just bargaining talk probably to speed things up which he seems keen on. Plus I don't get that he's a fan of M Russell.

This model nearly sent Barcelona bust, I’m pretty sure it would see us off.

I also fear this. As far as I am aware the club has never officially responded to claims the club is up for sale. Russell Martin has been asked about it in press conferences, but told reporters he had not been made aware that the club was for sale. If this is incorrect, please someone let me know where they have responded to it and what was said. In other conferences Martin has talked about "the project" when trying to recruit young talents like Kangasiemi and Bristric, where he implies that the club is looking at a multi-year strategy, hardly the actions of a club that is looking for a quick or panic sale.

If you want to go really tinfoil hat, what if asking Citi group to shop the club around is a way to take heat off the current ownership because the club is up for sale and then at the end of the season they say "we have decided we don't want to sell the club after all and are committed for X amount of years", which would presumably be after getting back to the Championship via promotion. Of course the flaw in this plan is that the way it's going it doesn't look like promotion will be a lot tougher to accomplish than first thought.

Fundamental issue pal - we are losing tens of millions a year that KP have not funded for a while but have nowhere left to turn now that all future parachute payments have been exhausted. So if they don't sell, they face two choices. 1) plunder funds in they possibly can't or 2) end up in administration if they can't sell.

Tick tock

We’re definitely up for sale.

My mate is an agent, and he’s assured me we’re up for sale….

The King power group have more or less instructed Top and “the family” to sell the club, they can’t afford to take the risk, as @Ric Flair says weee losing millions, it’s unsustainable, they can no longer afford to run us, they have to sell us…. Otherwise, the next best option is to just let us die….

I'm not convinced the PL is so lucrative in comparison to other leagues even when the Super League was put forward it was always done with the view of retaining their PL involvement.

An International Closed League of any sort would be to replace the UEFA Champions League and other FAs equivalents

It’s nowhere near as lucrative as the American sporting model collectively. Plus, will all of this investment going into the NFL football marriage, the US at some point will expect a return….

Its the one thing the US and gulf investors agree on, they want the worlds best all under one roof, the money that could be for grabs is unthinkable….. the super league was merely to test the water in my opinion, I think it’s eventually going to happen, it may start as a replacement for the champions league, but I think eventually within the next 10-20 years it will happen.
