No idea who is buying us, but I would prefer public/fan/community ownership model rather than being the vanity project of someone who sells something that nobody needs or something that is destroying the planet. Fed up of weirdos with more money than sense destroying the game and clubs like our own. The premier league and English football in general is worse off as a result of their “generous” contribution.

Being able to buy and destroy whatever you want because you have money and therefore your opinions and ideas matter more, is probably one the barriers to “the next step of civilisation”, never mind “little old Leicester City FC” stepping up the league ladder again

I predict a local British family / organisations that also have links to South East Asia and will be seen as acceptable back home in Thailand.

Oh fvck off. You mean Rudkin is going to buy us with Top as a silent partner?

Very few examples of this working.

Yet it would still be my preference. Good job I’m not the millionaire owner or I would put the club in “real trouble”

As "romantic" as this sounds, it can easily create a 'too many cooks' structure where too many people have their own ideas/agendas that nothing ever gets agreed or executed.

Ideally, we want an individual or collective group of individuals with deep pockets and a long-term vision, if they have experience with sporting clubs then even better.

Replacing one disaster with another isn’t the way forward.

Say fans could buy the club at a knockdown £100m, that’s £5k per season ticket holder (even children) factor in that the club is likely to lose £20m per year for the foreseeable which would be another £1k each on top of their season ticket cost and it’s well beyond the majority’s means.

Then you would need a competent board (I know we don’t have one now but that doesn’t mean replacing them will improve matters). It’s a utopian and ultimately terrible idea.

On second thoughts looking at that.

No real change to what we already have 😂 😂 😂

I'm more than a little concerned we won't be sold tbh.

Me to, or at least until after we'e one into Administration.

Honestly, we’d be better off with owners who know absolutely nothing about football and don’t even pretend to. Leave the major decisions to a footballing guy ( not Rudkin). We really need owners who won’t try and thrust their name and their family to the forefront and in some ways overshadow the footballing side and take the limelight, Now that was hard to type because Vichai was such an incredible human, but whoever it is needs to let us focus totally 100% on football. And they certainly don’t need to undermine the manager and give people holidays when the manager says no.

what country they’re from, under those terms, doesn’t really matter.

This is literally exactly what is currently happening. Only they have trusted Rudkin.

I also fear this. As far as I am aware the club has never officially responded to claims the club is up for sale. Russell Martin has been asked about it in press conferences, but told reporters he had not been made aware that the club was for sale. If this is incorrect, please someone let me know where they have responded to it and what was said. In other conferences Martin has talked about "the project" when trying to recruit young talents like Kangasiemi and Bristric, where he implies that the club is looking at a multi-year strategy, hardly the actions of a club that is looking for a quick or panic sale.

If you want to go really tinfoil hat, what if asking Citi group to shop the club around is a way to take heat off the current ownership because the club is up for sale and then at the end of the season they say "we have decided we don't want to sell the club after all and are committed for X amount of years", which would presumably be after getting back to the Championship via promotion. Of course the flaw in this plan is that the way it's going it doesn't look like promotion will be a lot tougher to accomplish than first thought.

i mean, I wouldn’t personally call Rudkin a footballing guy as I don’t think he makes any decent footballing decision but yeah, he did “ come up through the ranks” so to speak.. youth coach, ect..

Thanks for your insights. Would still prefer it to king power mk 2. Plus there are many other alternative ways of modelling things like this. The main problem is how much money people can extract from the club given.

If you are telling me you think that a disorganised group of democratically elected fans would do a worse job than this lot or the next lot then I’m not sure you can prove that.

it’s fine though.

I meant that the big reason for our failures is that literally everything is left to one person. Granted he now has some help with McCarron but everything has been put on Rudkin (with nobody really for him to delegate things to) for years and he's persistently made errors in that time.

If we want to be successful then we need an ownership who will set up a proper structure here as opposed to "give it to one bloke and hope he's decent".
