Southampton away, 3-2 from 2-0 down, Ayew 90+8. Mental scenes, won two on the bounce beating Bournemouth the game before at home. Points deduction was cleared and I was so confident we’d stay up.

Haven’t celebrated anything remotely close to that feelings since.

My lad went mental, as did Roy Cropper, who explained to them about being 2-0 up and not winning, in language you wouldn't see on Coro.

Genuinely have had thoughts that vardys last game as a player for us, should have been my last game as a fan

I wish it would be as easy as just retiring as a fan and switching off those emotions.

I think the last genuine 90 minute performance was the 5-0 against Russell Martin's Southampton side.

We completely battered them. They couldn't handle the pace we played at and picked the ball off them for fun. Aiyawatt watched and said "I fancy a bit of that".

This is the correct answer

Its been difficult to enjoy any of our games over the last few years simply because of the basics of effort and fitness being none existent. We can all accept losing or drawing when the players have given their all but that clearly hasn't been the case for the vast majority of them over the past few years.

I do however feel the players are fit now and are trying but are unfortunately being hampered by Martin's style, which is another reason why its very difficult to enjoy our games at the moment. Nobody wants to watch Mccarthy, O Hora and Souttar pissing around at the back and ultimately giving the opposition several chances every match. Hideous to watch.

Spurs away

Think this too. Just because we'd been so dire and actually showed some proper fight and resilience in that game. Felt like we had an outside chance of turning things around at that point (obviously not!)

Some great wins under Enzo but that whole season was just strange. Should never have been in that league from where we were and given we were steamrolling the league until towards the end of the season, it just felt like a bit of pointlessly year.

At this point, you'd genuinely be going back 5 years to a point when things felt properly positive for any length of time

Sounds like we reached another nadir last night.

Another thread said

”Out of all of the hideous results and performances we've endured over the past few years, a 2-1 defeat in a pointless competition against Stevenage is what's sent you over the edge. Incredible”

What was the last truly uplifting performance by the team, there has been so much continued apathy and negativity, I needed to look back to something positive.

Was it Preston A?

Was it Southampton A

Has there been one in the last 2 years?

Everyone seemed pretty excited after we played a drowsy Ipswich reserve tesm earlier this year.

Last season, here, Bristol City missed a pen with 30 mins to go, when we were 2-0 up. After that our players got energised, closed their players down and got stuck in, with the crowd right behind them.

Not uplifting perhaps, but I suppose it has stuck in my memory because they were so poor in most games before and after that. Another 4 or 5 performances like that and we would have stayed up.

That Southampton game was the last time i was truly lost in the moment when the winner went in.  With football changing almost beyond recognition since i started going,  it was one of those few and far between moments that reminds you why you still do it.  Just pure elation and nothing else mattered or existed for a few minutes.
