I get it that we only have 7 subs now, a keeper and 2 defenders leaves 4 slots to cover midfield, wingers and CF.

 

What if Riis picked up an injury, Bobby, Chaplin or Cullen on in a false 9 position? 

Riis seems consistently good and streets ahead of Bristric and RM won’t consider 2 up top even if trailing heavily so on that basis you can see why he’s not included on merit with needing any conspiracy theories. Personally I would include him and not Bobby, Bristric at least looks like a finisher, Bobby regularly misses sitters, Chaplin covers the no.10 role and I’d rather have Filbert on the wing than BDCR and with Cullen and Howell on the bench it’s covered. Add Smallbone to the mix and there will be one less place in the matchday squad available soon anyway.

I think if the rumours about Riis being injured are true, if he doesn't start or is not in the squad for this game then we can safely say RM is not in favour of him.

 

Starting BDCR upfront will just be a huge sign of how shite Bristric is in RMs mind.
