Have a kindle and Amazon Prime so I get one free book a month to borrow. Currently reading all the James Bond books but also in between I finished Ender's Game, World War Z and The Hobbit in the last few months. Also been picking up and reading a section if Supergods by Grant Morrison.

Just finished the first 2 Walking Dead books, Rise Of The Governor and Road To Woodbury. Both excellent reads. Action packed and you really get into the characters.

Are they the same story/scenario as the tv series?

Not really. Scenario is what it is but the TV series is all told pretty much from Rick's point of view. You get the character development of The Governor over the course of the 2 books from outbreak to Woodbury. Whilst the second book centres on a different character it's really about Woodbury so you see his development too.

All told for a few quid a piece they were a really enjoyable read. Third one comes out this year I think

I might have a look at them then. Fancied getting a bit more fiction in lately.

Just had a look and the third (and final) novel will be released mid October 'The Fall Of The Governor'.

So yeah basically it's a Governor trilogy.

I have only read 1 book, and that was Jessica Ennis's autobiography.

Now I'm going to attempt number 2, as I brought Ledley King's autobiography today.

Having given up on Cloud Atlas as a pile of drivel with no direction, I dropped into brainless mode and read an old Clive Cussler Dirk Pitt novel, Iceberg. Fantastic, if only for its old world charming views of women, gays and foreigners. Unintentionally hilarious in places :)

Have just started reading The Long Earth, a collaboration between Terry Prachett and Stephen Baxter. Only a short way in but promising so far.

It's quite good, but I'll warn you now it ends in the same way a Game of Thrones book ends, as in it doesn't really and there is no real closure so you may want to order in the Long War, the next in what is being touted as a 5 book series, not read the Long War as it was only out in hardback when I finished the Long Earth, but it seems to have good reviews.

Should tide me over nicely on the flights to and from California next week.

Halfway through that. Cracking read so far, especially the stuff about Charles Lindbergh and Babe Ruth.

She looks like she's been badly eaten up , her face looks awfully contorted into an agonised sickly grin , she's obviously been through hell.

Actually she said she was lucky to be in a position to prepare for her family while she was inside. 80% of women that are imprisoned do not expect prison as the majority of their crimes are non-violent. But this is for a thread to do with prisons and the justice system.
