Ideas for Players for 2006/7 HERE -

I think Hendrie would get stuck in - he actually still has a lot of critics and has a lot to prove. Having said that, whether or not his attitude is correct I don't know because he's fallen out of favour at Villa and recently turned down a move to Sheff United.

I would give McPhail a chance. He is a good age at 26 and is a good player. The only problem could be that he could be too similar to Williams (lazy bast ard). I would take a chance though. Would be a good back up player anyway.

Yeah, I wouldn't be upset if we signed McPhail. I think he would want guarenteed first team football though.

Jermaine Wright will probably join S'oton as he was on loan there.

Dan Harding i know nothing about except he was a good prospect at Brighton and cost leeds 450k? but will be released on a free? he is only 22 so fits the young mould we have. is he any good? i dont know

yeah Cardiff seem on the verge of signing McPhail. are they still getting Koumas?? if the deal falls through id like to see McPhail come here.

Grant McCann at Cheltenham (we were interested in him early this year) looks the part to me, I think he'd fit the bill.

Another idea - Matt Derbyshire of Blackburn? Last season he was on loan at Wrexham scoring 10 in 16 games. He did have a spell at Plymouth before that though, failing to score at all, but I know he's very highly rated so I think he'd be decent backup up front to bring in on loan. Kelly will know all about him too.

I ran his name by people on here last season when he was at Wrexham, I think he'd be worth bringing in if we could bin de Vries or Elvis. Kelly worked with him at Blackburn, so that could work in our favour.

Anyone know Paul Wanchopes current situation at club level or even basic details like his age? I ask this because after watching him against germany i was dead impressed with his pace and classy finshing. Maybe city could have a sneaky attempt to get him?

Hes playin in costa rica at the minute i think and he is retiring from international football after world cup.

The commontators said during the game that hwe had hoped for a move back to England over the summer

Then Mark Lawensen goes "hes only 30 and playing like this some English clubs will certainly be interested or something like that

Trust me, you don't want to wish him on us.

He is gifted with a clinical finish that gets used as much as a teenagers dick. He is as lazy a fu**, when he's up for it he turns matches ... otherwise he sucks money out of a club and contributes nothing.

We need someone with more consitency than he can EVER offer.

didnt he used to play for derby?

:ermm:

Yep basecally where he made his name v man utd at old traffors when he scored 2, and derby won 3-2

I only remember this game because i was watching it with 5 man u fans at the time!!

NO!!!

He may have a nice finishing touch, but from what I've seen, he's awfully lazy, slow and hardly ever dares to move. I would also claim that Wanchope is no team player, but rather a 30+ vain entertainer.

There's better options out there.

****s sake "did he use to play for Derby?" it wasn't that long ago!

I belaive he's retiring from international football at the end of the season. He currently plays in Qater and has intentions to go back back to Costa Rican football.

however the biggest point that has been raised here is.

WE WILL NOT BE SIGNING ANY PLAYER WHO IS PLAYING IN THIS SUMMERS WORLD CUP!! SO DONT SUGGEST IT!!!

I think wages might be a tiny, weeny little stumbling block.

i heard on the radio yesterday that his knees are about ****ed n'all. they were a couple of nice finishes yesterday though

Indeed..

He flopped in Spain last season, which is why he ended up back in Costa Rica.

Even if we could afford him, there's no way he'd move to a lower-league club.

And what's wrong with Hume or Fryatt anyway?

Are these 2 indestructable? Everyone seems to be thinking they will play all 46 league games and the 3 cup games we'll play this season. We need 2 more strikers.

However, Paulo Wanchope lol lol lol

Why not suggest Miroslav Klose eh? <_<

I agree with your first paragraph but i dont see why you are laughing at wanchope after his germany performance.
