Ric Flair Posted 17 November 2006 Posted 17 November 2006 http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~929328,00.html Are they saying there will not be a decision now? Basically, Milan Mandaric will find out within the next few days whether the shareholders agree to sell to him or not. Then he'll have to make a formal bid to the shareholders and they'll have 21 days to accept. So the December 15th date of complete takeover would be about right should they accept.

I'm not to sure it will even be put to a vote as he has yet to make a written bid, only an indicative bid, which can change once he has done due diligence. I would have thought that whatever happens, he will make an offer to the individual shareholders once he has completed due diligence. As that may take one week, I would have thought it may take over a month to get a final decision.

They will discuss whether or not to accept a bid that Milan Mandaric hasn't actually put in yet? I was under the impression it was similar to the purchase of a house. A prospective buyer has a look round, likes what he see's and puts an offer in subject to survery's, etc. The owner decides whetehr to accept or not. If they do accept, then the surveys, etc are done and if everyone is still happy then the offer is actually made and it all goes through. Is that what will be happening here? The shareholders will talk tomorrow, they'll know pretty much whether thay want to sell to Milan subject to all parties complying and then Milan will do what he's got to do and contact the shareholders once due dilligance is done and he'll strike a deal if the shareholders want to sell or not?
disheartened fan Posted 17 November 2006 Posted 17 November 2006 Very Interesting, its good to see Mr Taylor publicly stating his confidence in MM's credentials, seems to me (i might be wrong tho) that Mr Taylor trying to secure his place in a future board by 'bigging up' MM. I think it indictates which way he will be voting.

Hullfox Posted 17 November 2006 Posted 17 November 2006 http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~929328,00.html Very clear and precise.

I would think they will discuss what they know so far. MM has yet to put a bid in in writing, then individual shareholders have to make their mind up, a vote at an EGM cannot bind each shareholder. What they might decide to vote on is to remove the 10% maximum shareholder rule.

Surreal Madrid Posted 17 November 2006 Posted 17 November 2006 So RL saying they will report the decision from the meeting at 2pm, is aload of old bollard then? Yes, according to Andrew Taylor, he doesn't expect anything major to come out of tomorrow - the ball will then be in MM's court to submit a formal offer to all the shareholders.Assuming he does that after due diligence he might just meet the date of 15th December that has been bandied about.
Louise Posted 17 November 2006 Posted 17 November 2006 RL News: "Presenter: Leicester City's Board of Directors will meet this evening to make plans to recommend Milan Mandaric's bid to the shareholders. An EGM of shareholders will meet tomorrow to consider the offer, well John Barber has been following the story... John, what do we know about what's going to happen? Barber: Well the board met with Mr Mandaric yesterday to try and get further reassurances about his plans for the future of the club, they now think that they're as close as they'll ever be to recieving that and will be asking shareholders to back Mr Mandaric's takeover of the club. The Board say it's now a credible bid, from a credible buyer, who they feel is far better placed for a push to the Premier League than the curren board themselves. Presenter: And what about the news that it could take three weeks to get a decision? Barber: Well, as was revealed on the football forum on Monday, the shareholders will be allowed 3 weeks to decide if they want to back the Mandaric bid. Nothing definitive will be announced tomorrow after the EGM tomorrow, and the board will have to work to lobby any shareholders who aren't convinved by the offer from the Serbian businessman."

That sounds about right ...i can see why it takes a while, the red tape involved in any kind of buisness take over is bizzare these days to be honest, anyway things are looking up, then again i always though that, daft as our Board undoubtedly is, they would not be stupid enougth to reject a sensible bid from somone like Mandaric.

Is there any reason why I feel like man hugging John Barber right now? He might be an absolute cheb-end at times, but he has been willing to stick his neck on the line and explain things as best he can to the fans. I know that's his job, but the club have been very confusing in what they've been broadcasting and if it wasn't for Barber us fans wouldn't of had a clue whether the board were in favour or not in favour of Milan taking over. I don't want to tempt fate, but it's time for another jig.

harpendenfox Posted 17 November 2006 Posted 17 November 2006 Meanwhile the Mercury's coverage becomes increaasingly hysterical, and in my opinion ludicrously short sighted. It's obvious these things take time, and I for one am glad that the Board hasn't simply rolled over and put its collective legs in the air. I want the bid to succeed, I'd be happy for MM to takeover, but I want it to be done properly. It simply does not matter if there's some big announcement tomorrow. The Merc seems to have forgotten its duty to present the facts and let the readers make their minds up
