davieG Posted 3 November 2006 Author Posted 3 November 2006 The 47 shareholders rescued the club from administration three years ago and remain totally committed to safeguarding and developing the future of the club.Thats the part that worries me.... it kind of says 'we know best'..... Well better than us, after all a lot of them are running a successful business as well as being Leicester City fans.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 Well better than us, after all a lot of them are running a successful business as well as being Leicester City fans. Granted. But it still sounds alarmingly like, we know best, we wont consult the fans and we will reject the bid because everything administration wise is honkey doorey.....
Chrysalis Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 ok just finished reading the posts. The info posted regarding the offer is accurate from what I know, some points I wish to make. He was never going to offer equal to what the shareholders paid for the club as he is well aware they were not expecting to get a return on their investment and that he is offering something that up until now wasnt available to the club. Pretty much all takeovers of club involve debt, abramovich, walker at blackburn, manderic at pompy will all have been done over loans, usually takeovers mean shifting existing debt to new owner this is how the investor garuantuees a return. A major part of the discussions I would assume is over the interest rate manderic wants on his loan and if that loan involves buying the stadium, if it does include the stadium then it will be trading the stadium debt for a loan to manderic. Then their will be a transfer budget with the remainder of the loan. If the club wasnt able to achieve promotion they would then be looking to achieve a garuantee that manderic doesnt have a clause where he can demand his payment back in full rather then over agreed period of time. So yes there is many potential flaws but also many oppurtunities opening up with this offer, I am very sceptical if the 2 american bids exist and I am led to believe they are both bluffs, and the midlands bid isnt a takeover but a cash injection. I do have access to a shareholder and some details but dont have any information which isnt already posted here and probably know less then the guy who leaked the information earlier.

Or it could be interpreted as ok mm we recognise your interest as genuine but feel the offer you have made, bearing in mind the current status of the club (in profit, successful academy, own academy facilities, good off field business turnover) is worth more than you're offering, we're happy to sit down and talk to you to see if between us we can come to an improved, acceptable and amicable agreement.
Louise Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 Does anyone get a feeling of deja vu re: the interview process, reminds me of last season with the managers.

The People's Hero Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 Does anyone get a feeling of deja vu re: the interview process, reminds me of last season with the managers. The same process which involved our board acting in an unprofessional, embarrassing and quite frankly ridiculous manner? Yeah... You're right.
lookwhaticando Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 The same process which involved our board acting in an unprofessional, embarrassing and quite frankly ridiculous manner? Yeah... You're right. Are you Chris Kamara in disguise?
Ric Flair Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 Does anyone get a feeling of deja vu re: the interview process, reminds me of last season with the managers. Don't remind me.
Louise Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 Actually, what it really made me think of was the fact that we (the board) kept re-interviewing and seemed incapable of making a decision, the same way I could see this going down.
lookwhaticando Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 Early days yet. Let's not get carried away in either direction.
Daggers Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 Early days yet. Let's not get carried away in either direction. Absofrickenlutely
The People's Hero Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 Are you Chris Kamara in disguise? Close. I'm not wearing a disguise.
Ric Flair Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 Actually, what it really made me think of was the fact that we (the board) kept re-interviewing and seemed incapable of making a decision, the same way I could see this going down. Could you imagine Mandy's response if the board keep asking to meet with him every day for about 3 weeks? He'd go wild.
teblin Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 I don't think the board will be able to say no int the end. The fall out fromt hat would be crazy
Ric Flair Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 I think the only stumbling block is whether Mandy has any intention to pay the ground off with the £20 million he'll loan the club from himself. If he does and it's at a lower rate of interest than we pay to Teachers then I think they'll be very foolish not to snap his hand off. I know they'll want their own stake back, but some have said they didn't expect a return on their investment when they put their money in. To be honest I think it is imperitive we pay the ground off or at least a large chunk of it off, otherwise we'll owe £20 million plus not own our stadium even if we then have £20 million to play with to go crazy in the transfer market.

How do we all know that he will want interest in the same way as a normal loan? He may want to put his 25m in and take back a sum of money when / if we get promoted, that way we wouldnt be gambling so much, hopefully thats his plan
The People's Hero Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 What does Jamesino's dad think? I'll ask him when he's finished his pie and his hot dog and delivering that seminar on the 'correct' views to hold on LCFC.

That about sums it up.
Daggers Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 Jamesino (FT member) gets a lot of LCFC information from his dad (Jamesino's dad) who likes pies. This is, of course, an excerpt from "My Guide To FoxesTalk" by lwicd. Published on Picador at £11.99 it makes the ideal stocking filler for friends, relations and that special loved one.
