Milan Mandaric has targeted leicester!

Thought I'd just call up a few years of Portsmouth's recent playing record. Oh yes...a piss poor, virtually bankrupt club when Mandaric took over. Now an established Premier League club. Come on Swedgeling....you obviously know that nearly ALL business in run with other peoples money or with debt. I wonder how many of Mandaric's detractors are squeeky clean of debt either.

D'you think the finances are unimportant? For us, of all clubs? It's just that, for me, it seems important because Mandaric can directly affect the finances and only indirectly affect the performance on the pitch. And is the money offered enough to guarantee premiership football? Because that level loan certainly is enough to guarantee bankrupting us if it goes tits up...

Can someone teach me the secret handshake, I want in on this. :P

Looking down the list of shareholders certainly made me think that way...don't know why but it was my very first thought.

Has the e-mail gone out then? I've not had mine yet

Yes, you better e-mail us if a current member & it's not been received.

Include some other details to enable us to verify membership though.

And both St.Gary and the owners of Hammond Grange Ltd are on record as saying they'd probably agree to a take-over.

IF THE OFFER IS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!

None of those commenting are actually on the board, and shouldn't even know what the bid from Mandaric is because it hasn't been referred to them yet!! What they are saying is if the board ok the bid, they will back it!!!

I just can't bring myself to do it. People will ignore it still anyway!!!

:D

We need to get ourselves a group of cohorts - we can ALL have it in our sig.

People couldn't fail to notice it then. ;)

The Trust can be one of them... see below!!!!!

Some shareholders have been sounded out, however based on the GL article we don't think he was one of them, at least at the time of writing, as there are a couple of things he wouldn't have written.

The debt changes from £15,203,000 owed to Mandaric to £10,729,000 owed to Mandaric and a bank overdraft of £9,527,000. In addition, he starts paying himself and charging the company fees of another £156,000.

Just an amendment: it's actually worse than that. One of the 'assets' on the Portsmouth balance sheet is a 'group loan' of £6,211,000, which has to be to Milan's overseas holding company. You can judge for yourself whether that money would normally be recoverable.

Nothing new then really from the weekends media activity.

It's time like this though where I wish the internet didn't exist. On one hand it's great to hear what might be going on, but it also stirs up a load of bollocks that can lead to much more.

One point I will make as regard to the clubs displeasure at Mandaric going public with his take-over bid. All the recent take-overs have had massive media coverage before a deal has took place.

Glazers last season were publically villified before they put a bid in and still took over

Randy Lerner openly used the media to publicise that he'd put a bid in. The Villa fan that also put a bid in, tried to use the media as much as he could to drum up support as he was a 'local lad'. The Villa take-over was completely played out through the media.

West Ham have had their fair share of potential buyers state their intentions through the papers. There's that Iranian chap, then the Swedish bloke. It's gone crazy there. But that will all be sorted this week, by the looks of things.

What i'm trying to say is, it's almost impossible not to be drawn in to a media battle these days. Mandaric probably couldn't of kept his take-over bid quiet even if he wanted to. So why not let the media know what he's doing, even if there is questions over the actual details of the bid.

The board should remember this. It also raises doubts about the other 'interested parties', I find it hard to believe there really are any serious other bidders because the media would have sniffed them out by now. If there are other bidders then hat's off for managing to not be exposed but I have my doubts.

Edited to say, the board should also remember how they were perceived through the media during last seasons manager search. It was led to believe that the club went out and tried to gain permission to speak with almost every manager in the league, where as this may not be the case. All Mandaric has actually said is he's put a bid in for the club, which he believes to be a good and fair deal. The media have done the rest. Swings and round-abouts.

If we don't want him...

Mandaric: City is my No.1 choice

Milan Manadric has insisted Leicester City are his first choice even though several other clubs have been trying to "poach" him.

Many clubs were alerted when he left Portsmouth, but Mandaric says City are the only club he is interested in.

Since he tabled his £25million bid last Tuesday, other clubs are reported to have been making it known they would be prepared to fill the breach if negotiations with City fail.

Mandaric told me yesterday: "Yes, that is the case, but I have to tell you that all my focus and concentration is on Leicester City, and I hope everything can be worked out.

"I am not even thinking about any other club right now. Leicester is the only one I am talking to and my loyalties are with them."

City have discussed the bid on the table and now the next step is a meeting with Mandaric this week to negotiate the finer details before recommending, or rejecting, the offer to the shareholders.

Mandaric is in positive mood and added: "There is a dialogue and it is all going in the right direction. They have had their discussions about the bid and no doubt their other options, and a meeting will be set up soon.

"There was a tentative schedule set up for something like that but the day, time and place of such a meeting has not been finalised and I am waiting to hear."

If we don't want him...

All the shareholders should be holding a meeting this morning at 9am with their hands out saying 'Thank you very much Mr Mandaric'

And the fact they've been stalling over this is a complete joke.

 Is he trying to get Ashley Giles's place in the ashes squad or something.

yeh, but you only need minimal spin to replace giles.
