Yep, after a total horror show, results were great in the other games.

2 wins is basically a slam dunk for promotion. I'd imagine even 1 win and a draw with an ok smattering of bonus points would do the job. Even 3/4 draws with strong bonus points (and assuming some of the draws are because of bad weather and therefore effect everybody), and they're basically there. Hopefully a bit of a reset after this match.

Not sure it will matter sadly looks like it will be Conference league next season 3 groups of 6 similar to the Bob Willis trophy we had in 2021.Surrey and Somerset have both confirmed that won't be voting for a fixture reduction as suspected we will be

I’m not totally against that, it gives every team the chance of becoming county champions at the start of the season.

Radio leicester last night said, that indeed the county will be voting in favour, regardless of what members opinions may be.  Supposedly two first divisions of six, so we would be promoted, and a division 2 of six.  I assume each county will play each county from their own division twice, without any cross division games, but not sure about that.  That would mean cutting the games down to ten from fourteen.  The two winners of each division then playing in a final, probably at Lords in September.  Which of course means that no County other than Middlesex could ever actually win the Championship at home.

That format means you would play everyone in the other conference home and away (12 games). Playing everyone home and away in your conference would only be 10 games.

How about just get rid of the Hundred! That'll reduce fixtures! No place in cricket for that forced franchised load of nonsense!

Not going to happen though.Worth remembering we voted for the hundred and we are voting for a fixture reduction.Talk about Turkeys voting for Christmas. 3 years from now they will be  still be saying we play too much cricket and reduce it to 10 championship matches

We'll blow it now! Mark my words!

Get a grip.

First bad red ball performance of the season and missing at least 3 first team players too.

On a day perfect for an ice cream, Yorkshire 2nd XI appropriately bundled out for 99 (Headley 5-28, Hull 2-28)

2nd Xi playing at Notts today. Headley’s first over went for 23!

Not his day. Looks like we have another Surrey player turning out for us - Stuart Van der Merwe. 20 year old right hand bat, only played 2nd XL cricket so far, but perhaps he surplus to requirements at Surrey.

Patel

Ahmed

Masood

Kimber

Cox

Van Beek

Trevaskis

Scriven

I reckon it'll be Salisbury or Walker instead of Wood.

Got a Guinness bar these days in the old George Geary stand. Otherwise it’s trash unless you get it from the pavilion bar.

Does the pavilion bar still have a cask beer on?
