They said that Eskinazi was still to be confirmed, which implies that the others are definite. They also said we were the most active in signing players, laying the ground to have a real shot at staying in div1

And with a £28m windfall incoming we should be able to build a competitive squad.

Would moan about the age profile about some of those but we’re going to need some serious experience in division 1. Still think the second overseas spot is going to be the big one.

Would you go for a batsman or bowler for that second spot? Batting wise Jake Weatherald could be a good option, or you take a punt on someone like Rhys Mariu

Presumably all the other counties have similar (if not higher) influx of funds.  Does that mean we see a few seasons with inflated wages and a lot of the  money disappears ???

I thought there are strings attached to the money to stop this being the case? Pay off debt, capital projects etc? I guess ultimately it will happen anyway.

Either a high order batter (opener) or a bowling all rounder. I keep saying it but I’d love Mulder back after his exploits, I do think South Africa have any cricket next summer either.

In a word yes like we seen with the Inflex of money in the PL the players will be the main benefactors

It’s just about how they manage it isn’t it. Yep all other counties will get it of course, but hopefully being in division 1 and the luxury of being able to offer that little more regardless of what others can offer will be nice.

Yeah I think the two names I mentioned could be good shouts for the top order.

It's a shame the best test players from around the world can't really play in the county game anymore. Love hearing stories about some of the huge names that played in not just county cricket, but local leagues 30/40 years ago.

They certainly don't play in the same depth as they did but the Aussies are generally well represented and will be even more so in 2027.

The famous ‘Muralitharan playing for Leicester Ivanhoe’ story everyone knows about. Apparently used to be seen doing sprints up Avery Hill in Braunstone every morning.

Green will be in England squads before the end of next season. He’s literally the perfect McCullum bowler. Tall, quick, high release point etc. But looks a tad more disciplined and consistent than Hull for example.

Just seen a post on the county cricket matters Facebook page by commentator Sam Dalling criticising the club apparently we have advertised for a commentater for the home one day cup games but the vacancy about from expenses and a free lunch will be unpaid

For anyone asking what's happened to Richard Rae the BBC are not covering the one day cup group matches

Bizarre that there is a chap on there going after Rae as a millionaire, not sure how he would know this if it is the case.

Possibly correct though I know he owns houses in London and Spain as well as Leicester plus  his children were educated at Stamford one of the top public schools in England

That's disgraceful, especially with all the Hundred money coming in. I've heard excellent freelance cricket journalist and ex-cricketers on other coverage and we're offering a meal deal.

It's going to be a packed squad next season then! I really don't think we need Tattersall, especially if we sign Eskinazi

Exactly, the money goes up the talent pool stays the same.

Is Tattersall not a wicket keeper batsman rather than a batsman wicketkeeper? You'd say Hanscombe and certainly Hill are the latter. In fact I'm not sure either really wants to keep.

I keep worrying that Cox is going to leave. Would be a real shame, if so. He's been great for us.
