Cox will be the biggest loss of the lot.

Would be a real shame if Cox leaves. Has been a top performer for us. Wonder if things have been stained between him and Thomas for a while as he was mysteriously left out for a few games last season when not injured.

Perhaps the best ‘keeper we’ve had since Nixon.

It was something we used to do a lot back in our halcyon days when we signed the likes of De Freitas, Habib and Lewis. 

Yes we did used to polish a few, Vince Wells also a great success. Daffy and Chris Lewis made their debuts for Leicestershire though, we picked them up playing for Harringey Cricket College. Lewis recalls he was spotted by Ken Higgs and offered a trial.

New, Hill, Swindells and Handscomb for the odd game. No perhaps about it he is on another level compared to those.

You’re forgetting O’Brien who was often a shining light in a terrible team and would’ve been the best aside from Nixon. In terms of actual keeping, Cox has to be one of the best modern ones in the county game!

I still see him regularly down the ground. Nice to see ex players popping in there.

Feel like next year we will be back in div 2 with a totally different side. No Rishi, Cox, Holland, Trevaskis and maybe Hull gone too. We will have to start again, and have to be very careful with recruitment. Cox and Patel will be hugely missed in all formats. I wonder if they will sign a keeper or just have either Tattersall or Eskinazi keep wicket?

Didn't realise Holland was out of contract too. He'll also be a big miss.

Only pops in because he's the agent of some of the players.Nobody else attends. Legends like Les Taylor Agnew Hoggard Shape Potter all live in Leicester but never go.Such a shame Gooch Fletcher Ackfield Lever Ray East are at Chelmsford almost every day same with most other sides Broad Hemmings French  Fraser Darling are always at Trent Bridge..Even Daffy is never seen and he works for the bloody club

Ive seen O’brien, Buck, Frecklington, Walker, Wells all this season.

Hopefully we can stay up if we can get Rehan's spin bowing and batting back for a bit and win another couple of games, but I have a feeling he's going to be away the second half of September for that SL series.

The demise of Harringey Cricket College was a travesty. Also produced Keith Piper.

 

Re Keepers, we also may have Handscombe back next year? Holland, Patel and Cox going would be a blow. The others replaceable though.

 

And they have already made moves to replace Rishi with Shaikh I reckon. A Green ticks the Hull box of he moves on.

Remember George Dobell saying in a tribute to Piper it would have only cost something like 40k to have kept it open. Peanuts in a game where much greater sums of money so often go into the wrong hands.

Was just thinking about this. 6th game in 12 days so not really a surprise, especially if you’re approaching 40. Insane scheduling by the ECB, anyone would think they want to devalue the competition.
