Mickey O'Neil Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 A Championship club put in a £1.4m bid. Who's got that sort of wonga in our division? Charlton. Just signed Varney. Sheff Utd ? If they sell the Jag. Wolves? Not got any money yet 'til takeover complete. Southampton. Skint. B@stards sent someone to Poland yesterday to get Saganowski. Feckers. W.B.A Leicester? Not loose change to us.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 Hmm would be delgihted if we got him, but if I'm not mistaken he was about to sign for Rangers

Milky Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 Bristol City been linked with him today I saw. No idea whether they've got any cash though. Bristol city have come out and denied making a bid.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 Bristol City been linked with him today I saw. No idea whether they've got any cash though. They say in the link provided that he might be on their radar but no contact has been made, so the bid was definitely not from them.

WBA could be rebuilding, fearing they will lose half their squad. Sheff Utd are getting parachute payments. Sheff Wed, Norwich and I think wolves have all bid similar money for Billy Sharp - Naismith might be one of their back ups as Billy seems to be dragging his feet. Don Mackay was also sporting director at Aidrie so he will have some contacts up North and might have already checked the player out Besides that every team has got season ticket sales coming in and will have some funds for transfers.
Raj Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 MARLON HAREWOOD IS THE MAN!!! And he is very eloquent almost verging on the effeminate side!
City Fan Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ers/6733305.stm Former Celtic midfielder Neil Lennon has revealed he almost signed for Wycombe Wanderers this week. The 35-year-old left Celtic after seven successful seasons and agreed to meet Wycombe officials as he ponders offers from several clubs. Lennon, a former team-mate of Wycombe boss Paul Lambert, said: "Their offer put me in a real dilemma. "I was impressed by what they had to say and almost joined them, but it took a lot of soul-searching to say 'no'." Wycombe managing director Steve Hayes said: "I know how highly Paul rates Neil, both as a player and as a man, so I thought 'why not?' Let's see if he's interested. "We did everything we possibly could to sign him, but the fact we're a League Two club went against us. "Regrettably, that's the one thing we can't change overnight but it makes us more determined than ever to win promotion next season." Lennon's agent Martin Reilly added: "Neil's been offered a contract by a top Premiership club and several from the Championship and other divisions. "Steve Hayes put up a very convincing case and at one point I thought Neil was going to say 'yes', but Neil is still a very talented player and wants to test himself at the highest level he can." ---------------------------------------- Does anyone else think he is going to come here? God I hope he does!

So any from Fortune Hasselbaink Wright Radzinski Jordan Trabelsi De Zeuw Gray McVeigh But apart from Gray and Hasselbaink i cant see any of them being more than squad players. Less to choose from than it first appeared.
Ultra Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Julian Gray could be an excellent buy! Hasselbaink's wage demands would scare off a lot of clubs though. And I doubt he'd want to play in the lower leagues anyway..
SystonFox Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 we were linked to Gray about 2 weeks back and still no news. he was also linked to Reading Books though.
Tommeh Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Trevor Sinclair would be ok as would David Thompson and Julian Gray. Hasselbaink would be excellent at this level, but would demand high wages and I can possibly see him ending up at one of the recently promoted clubs. However, as long as we could match his wages I think he would come here providing there arnt any premiership offers, afterall he was released from Charlton who are in the same division as us.
