Hullfox Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 :laugh:Bunch of hypocrites. Of course you'd all go and jack your contracted job in to take a lesser paid one, wouldn't you? There is a very good reason Hughes hasn't gone to Hearts and it has f'ck all to do with money. Come on BF, put us out of our misery here, what is the reason? I'm off on holiday soon and the suspense is killing me. This is getting to be like Thrach's best ever day in the club's history thread.
Chrysalis Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 Leeds dont even have a goalkeeper on the books so will be desperate so they may be something in the douglas story.
Cheese Me Posted 3 August 2007 Posted 3 August 2007 Strange thread to post on Douglas in. Plus I'm almost certain that Leeds won't go anywhere near Douglas's wages. Wouldn't be surprised if half of their first team for the start of the season combined will be on less than Douglas on his own.
David Guiza Posted 3 August 2007 Posted 3 August 2007 it just shows he has no ambition to join a club were he can play he just wants to rot in our reserves
Thracian Posted 3 August 2007 Posted 3 August 2007 It's hard to imagine why any professional footballer would join Leeds in the present situation.
Kirky Posted 3 August 2007 Posted 3 August 2007 leeds unfortunately get out of all there problems they will come up by pure fluke.
Cheese Me Posted 4 August 2007 Posted 4 August 2007 Not likely with a very limited squad and a 15 point penalty. They'll do very well to finish mid table and wouldn't be too surprised to see another relegation.

davieG Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 Source According to various reports, Hearts have resumed signing talks with Leicester City midfielder Stephen Hughes. A move was made by the club during the closed season to sign the former Rangers player and a fee of around £50,000 was agreed between the clubs. But the deal apparently fell through after personal terms could not be agreed. As I said at the time of the initial news that Hearts were looking to sign this player, I think this would be a poor move by the club. I just can't see how Hughes could possibly add any value to even the squad, let alone the team. From an admittedly hazy memory, I recall Hughes being a central midfield player who was more comfortable going forward than defending, but this is one of the few positions that Hearts are well covered in. They've already signed Michael Stewart and Ruben Palzuelos this summer, plus we already had Larry Kingston, Eggert Jonsson and Bruno Aguiar who can play in those positions, so where is the need for another central midfield player? I could understand this if Hughes was an exceptional talent who had become available to us and we just HAD to sign him, but come on! I've had several Leicester fans contacting me saying that the guy has been useless for them, so perhaps that tells us all we need to know. I'll obviously give the lad a chance should he become Hearts' latest signing, but I'd be underwhelmed to say the least if it goes through.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 Barton - let's hope they offer a deal that would please Amnesty International this time, eh?
Ric Flair Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 wahey Sad day for Leicester City Football Club.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 That BBC article is a bit misleading. Barton was right about there being a good reason he didn't shift last time.
Milky Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 Best of luck to him. Okay he didn't do very well for us, but he was a nice bloke
Granno Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ian/6951553.stm Hearts are on the verge of signing midfielder Stephen Hughes from Leicester City, BBC Sport understands. EDIT - sorry, now seen this in transfer talk. Please delete!
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 That BBC article is a bit misleading. Barton was right about there being a good reason he didn't shift last time. Yes, but it was to do with personal terms. So strictly they are telling the truth.
