Gené and Tonic Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 "The stuff I post is normally my own info but this Saganowski stuff is second hand however, I am informed that a deal is nearly done, in our favour.I cannot completely verify this like I did for Cort, Mckay etc but the source is good."
The Reverend Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 If this went through we would have a great strikeforce. Hume the little guy, Cort the big guy, Saganowski the bit of class, and whatever anyone says about Fryatt, hes a good player. Still cant see it though.

Vennegoor10 Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 10 goals in 13 starts for saints? Please let this happen
Daggers Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 I was convinced they were going to be links to the EMC Forum. It really exists?
shen Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 If Southampton were offering the reported "£650K", then I'm pretty damn sure we could top that... whats more at the same time we should be in a position to offer better terms anyway. Be very happy if this turns out to be true... with a proven player like Saganowski our strike force would be sorted IMHO. But if they have the option of first refusal, then I understand it as nobody being able to negotiate with Saganowski as long as Southampton have put an offer in and Saganowski hasn't refused it...
Mort Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 But if they have the option of first refusal, then I understand it as nobody being able to negotiate with Saganowski as long as Southampton have put an offer in and Saganowski hasn't refused it... Would it prevent us effectivley putting a provisional offer to him through his agent?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 Would it prevent us effectivley putting a provisional offer to him through his agent? Nice.
Mort Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 Nice. Nothing sanctioned or anything... just a little "chat" to his agent...
shen Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 Would it prevent us effectivley putting a provisional offer to him through his agent? Not if MA's middle name is José
lee7 Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 this was just posted on talking balls Hi there, Saints fan here (obviously!) I've not come here to specifically depress you or anything, but Saganowski's signing at Saints is pretty much a done deal now. We exercised our clause over the weekend, which would demonstrate the fact that we are willing to pay the agreed £680,000. Our operations director (Lee Hoos) was over in Poland during the international break ratifying personal terms with Saganowski and his agent, which was confirmed on our OS. It may be a case that you are in poll position should our deal dramatically full through....but as it stands, until we have signed him or let him go you cannot agree a fee with Troyes, let alone discuss personal terms with him (that would class as tapping up). First option states just that, we have first call on where he ends up.....and he's all but our player for the next 2 years. Sorry to disappoint, but I thought I’d let you know before you got a bit carried away.
Babylon Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 He's talking our of his arse... they may or may not sign him. But what he says about first option is crap, if he turns them down he is free to go anywhare.
Babylon Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 Newton on TB who knows Timmy Boy says: "tim say yes well done RN we have set out a longer contract with perk's if we go up in the time that he could be with us ,its not 100% yet by no means but could be all sorted by the end of the week if things go our way ,IMO he's got to make his mind up where he wants to go"

Sorry my knowledge of who is/isnt a reliable source on TB is kinda limited
Babylon Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 Is that a decent source? Sorry my knowledge of who is/isnt a reliable source on TB is kinda limited He use to be spot on, his tips got a bit of the mark after a while though so who knows. But he certainly did has inside info at some point and said it was from Timmy.
Steven Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 Is that a decent source? Sorry my knowledge of who is/isnt a reliable source on TB is kinda limited My understanding is that he is very closely connected to certain senior personnel at City.
newtonfox Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 as ive posted on TB we are trying to get him we have offerd better terms but nothing is 100% yet

Bluefoxtim Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 I still don't understand this "we have offered him better terms" comment..... As I understand it - the first option means that Southampton can offer him a deal, and before he agrees or rejects the deal, no third party club can enter the deal at any stage. On that basis I can't see that he is anywhere near signing for us. Unless I am totally wrong????????

Bluefoxtim Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 Do you really think his agent hasn't spoken to other teams to see what is on the table? Seems that the 'first option' clause is a pretty meaningless then?
potter3 Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 Seems that the 'first option' clause is a pretty meaningless then? Yeah but officially the agent shouldn't be talking to any other clubs.
