escape2victory Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 September 93. 1-1 draw against Brum at Filbo. Walsh and Peschisolido scored.
chesterfox Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 early 70's I think - 1 dark miserable wet midweek evening v Blackpool at Filbo, where the conditions were so horrendous the match almost got called off. Ball continuously got stuck in the mud and Rodney Fern thinking he had scored only for the ball to stick on the line. Anyone else remember that one???
Bert Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 1-1 draw v Tranmere at Filbo 93/94.1-1 draw v Tranmere at Filbo 93/94.
JoeyB Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 3-3 v gooners at home Lost 2-0 to Sheffield Wednesday. Not sure of the date but it was the day Man U beat Forest 8-1 i watched that game ripped my mates for weeks after
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 Family Night Football, in the Carling stand at Filbo ( ), against Watford, 4-0, 2 goals each for Trevor Benjamin and Lawrie Dudfield...
Leonisco Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 First senior game was against Chesterfield in the Worthington Cup, I think that was the year we lost to Spurs in the final but I might be wrong. I was sat right on the top row of the Carling Stand with my uncle and cousin. We won 3-0, I can remember Gerry scoring with a header from a corner, I think Heskey scored aswell. I can also remember all the Chesterfield fans singing "Tony Cottee's full of shit" - not sure why they hated him though.
He's not bald Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 early 70's I think - 1 dark miserable wet midweek evening v Blackpool at Filbo, where the conditions were so horrendous the match almost got called off. Ball continuously got stuck in the mud and Rodney Fern thinking he had scored only for the ball to stick on the line. Anyone else remember that one??? That's a bit scary!...
sdb Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 man utd home 96/97 - 2-2 draw, awesome game, we were 2-0 up, played great and the result almost guaranteed safety!!
AoWW Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 Mine must have been either '93 or '94. Can't remember who citeh were playing but i remember they did win. Was a sunny day, so I'm guessing it was early on in the season - could be wrong though.
ASH17LCFC Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 My first ever leicester game was right after we lost to swindon in the playoffs it was at saffron lane sport stadium and it was Nev Hamilton benefit game. They played against abunch of leicester legends. Can't remember the score but leicester won ... My first ever proper game was against peterborough first game of the 93/94 season we won 2-1 steve thompson and tony james scoring. Also remember the carling stand wasn't built. I must have been 4 or 5.
AyewJoking Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 Early nineties we lost 2-0 at home to Peterborough. Philiskirk got one for them.
FilboFox Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 Date: Tuesday 6th April 1999 Venue: Filbert Street Leicester City - 2 (Savage 63') (Cottee 71') Aston Villa - 2 (Hendrie 2') (Joachim 49') Great game... I didn't really know what the hell was going on as at the time I really wasn't that into football. However since then I have NEVER looked back! From two down to come back... although I couldn't see much, it was a hell of an atmosphere in the kop!
FilboFox Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 man utd home 96/97 - 2-2 draw, awesome game, we were 2-0 up, played great and the result almost guaranteed safety!! Same as the first game of the 98/99 season at Old Trafford. Heskey and Cottee put us 2-0 up with Cottee's being on the 76th minute just for Man Utd to peg it back to 2-2 by the final whistle! Beckham scoring in the LAST seconds... Was a good season though... finished 10th in the league under Martin (Leicester Legend) O'Neill!
ousefox Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 I think my first game was a friendly against some european team at filbo, it was ages ago, early 90's. No idea. 7-8 Leicester 3-1 Charlton!!!
Raj Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 V Cambridge Utd Play off 2nd Leg at Filbert street Mid week Year??? we won something like 5-1!!!! Thought all games would be that exciting!!!
PAULCFC Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 Sometime in the 70's at filbo. All i remember were the visitor's kit was white with a diagonal stripe,so could have been crystal palace or man city. Was quite young,so didn't really take much notice of the match....so i've been told by my father!
Durnerz Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 7-8 Leicester 3-1 Charlton!!! My goodness! Must have been one hell of a game
Vacamion Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 Mid 70s. Villa at home. In the East Stand with my Dad. There was a pitch invasion and fighting inside and outside the ground. Can't remember the result.
sdb Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 Same as the first game of the 98/99 season at Old Trafford. Heskey and Cottee put us 2-0 up with Cottee's being on the 76th minute just for Man Utd to peg it back to 2-2 by the final whistle! Beckham scoring in the LAST seconds... Was a good season though... finished 10th in the league under Martin (Leicester Legend) O'Neill! yeh i actually cried when Beckham scored that free kick
stripeyfox Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 My first game was the FA Cup Third Round match at Filbert Street against Crystal Palace in 1992 (I think). Brian Little's first season. Gary Mills floated a lovely free kick in the area in the last minute and Richard Smith lashed it in to give us 1-0 win!
The People's Hero Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 4-4 home match vs Watford. Ormo/The Droyd/The big O/Sticks scored a beautiful brace. (Yes, I did just make up Ormo).
Geo V Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 I cant remember my first game but what I can remember clearly was my transformation from glory hunter to real football fan . I went from being a Liverpool fan as a kid being brought up in London and then Cambridgshire and then moved to Leicester aged 14, went to a game aged 16 and got so hooked after my first game that despite moving out of Leicester aged 18 that the club is set firmly in the blood! Being behind the goal in penn 3 singing my heart out with the lads at Filbo is something that all Leicester fans should have at least had one go at. I just hope that the same feeling is recreated for the young lads and lasses who turn up at the Walkers.
