Geo V Posted 24 July 2007 Posted 24 July 2007 I said a few days ago that the foxes have over paid for DJ campbell but if you can get over a million for fryatt then thats a great bit a business in my eyes.Im glad we didnt not sign fryatt in the end and went for Elliott instead. as for Mcleod how can charlton spend £1.5m on him he is useless and we were quoted 600k for him a year ago and we backed out of the deal. I bet Charlton are gutted that they missed out on Eastwood and are having to try and sign league two players who no one else really wants to buy. this guy has been sent off more times than carl cort has had injuries Mate, thats a little bit rich from a side that signed a player fron NON-LEAGUE, never mind lower leagues in Michael Kightly who was apparently your best player last season! Also, as much as I would have like Eastwood at Leicester, he only managed 6 or 7 goals last season and he takes the free-kicks and penos! Also you bought Andrew Keogh from the lower leagues who did well! Its typical for supporters to knock the lower leagues when they feel it neccasary but applaud the hidden gems when they come good. No one really knows how a player will do once he steps up as some find it easier than others.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 24 July 2007 Posted 24 July 2007 Sheff Wed interested in Darius Henderson now too. Maybe PNE will be back in for Fryatt after all. I don't know why I'm bothering with this. I must be bored.

I was not knocking the signings of lower league players. just pointing out that Mcleod plays league two football and has been with MK dons for a few years and no one seems to want to gamble on him. there is a reason for that. He gets sent off to many times and has misses alot of chances in front of goal. As for Kightly man utd wanted to buy him from grays but were to late so you cant compare him with Mcleod. as for eastwood he scored 16 goals last season for a relegated side. ( he scored most of those goals in the first half of the season)

Cos it may depend which Fryatt is staying at Leicester. But for sure the guy looks a lot fitter than he did this time last season. He appears to have some appetite back and my only concern is that by playing what I consider to be a psychological ace he seems to have won himself an advantage. In other words he's had a meeting with MA to "discuss his future" and basically said "do you want me around or would you rather I leave?" Or, if I stay do you promise to involve me. I am 100% sure that had a few other players called for a clear the air meeting with the manager they'd have been shown the door. But Fryatt's reward is a place on tour and good luck to him. A hope he realises how lucky he is and thanks the manager and the club with the goals he was signed for.
The People's Hero Posted 24 July 2007 Posted 24 July 2007 We should sign Marcus Bent. That's all I'm saying. Well that and that I'm well behind on my 5 a day for today (fruit/veg - not wanks!)

Manwell Pablo Posted 24 July 2007 Posted 24 July 2007 Just for the Thracian "Fryatt can't score different types of goals" Arguement. There was the header on Saturday, finishing a move he started. This little beauty we all know plenty aboutI'd I'd like to see any of our strikers, Hume included, do this

Thracian Posted 24 July 2007 Posted 24 July 2007 Absolute quality! That is why we need to keep him. I'm no idea what you're trying to convince me of. I've never suggested Fryatt could never score goals or even good goals. But how many such goals has he scored since he's been here? Has there been one volley outside the box? Or more than two or three headers including friendlies. I've said he starts with a clean sheet this season. I've praised him for starting and finishing his goal against Notts County. I've said he looks sharp in training. But no amount of clips will change his overall record as a striker these last 14 months. Or the fact he's been inexplicably indulged by Leicester City at other people's expense. I'm wish him all the luck he can get tonight. But it's in his own hands, not mine. Leicester need an consistent second striker - 18 a season in my view, 15 a season according to others. That's his target. Simple as. One-off magic moments will convince me of nothing. Enjoyable as it was being reminded that he can do it.
Chrysalis Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 If fryatt ups his game next year and with us then thats great, I am not convinced he will until he starts performing in 1st team league games in particular in lower profile games.

Thracian Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 If McLeod does sign it won't be til the last minute - he already knows what pre-season with MA is like - all those cold baths and character tests !

I'm not one to ride you or criticise your every utterance, but do you really need all those spaces? Are paragraphs too much to ask? It's only faintly annoying but I thought I'd mention it anyway. I've taken the liberty of tidying up.
Geo V Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 How anyone can knock someone who has already won a Mars Bar in his career is beyond me . Leave MF alone and watch him flourish in a good side. Too much weight was put on his shoulders (no puns) when the lad joined us. Now lets see him express himself playing for a good experienced team for once.
Thracian Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 I'm not one to ride you or criticise your every utterance, but do you really need all those spaces? Are paragraphs too much to ask? It's only faintly annoying but I thought I'd mention it anyway. I've taken the liberty of tidying up. To the Spaceman! I like space - sentences with space, seats with space, space in my life, open space, spacious women, you name it! But you've done a very nice job! Some people are compelled to be tidy. To have order as they see it. That's their style. But I like my style. It's almost a signature. A little statement of identity. Like a Trilby hat or a Mohican haircut. But you carry on. Sub-edit me into conventional normality if it calms your irritation. Fighting is tiresome anyway. Trying to remain myself and to do things my way. I'm 58 now. Sooner or later it will have to stop. Like singing songs at football matches. Hardly becoming of a grown man... I really should have more self awareness and not seek to stand out. Perhaps I could become a grey area.
Edmund Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter.com/fu...icle.asp?i=1471 Fryatt the latest name to be linked; Riordan, however, is a non-starter Weds 25 Jul 07 City boss Peter Grant's summer recruitment drive took another interesting turn this morning after the Canaries were strongly linked with a possible swoop for Leicester City marksman Matty Fryatt. According to newspaper reports, the Canaries are battling Watford for the signature of the former Walsall striker – who has found the net 10 times in Foxes colours during an 18-month spell. In truth, it is not a goal record that will have Championship defenders quaking in their boots but he has found life tough at the Walkers Stadium, often being introduced as a substitute. However, Fryatt was due to play his first pre-season match last night against Partick Thistle at Firhill. "Matty has been patient and deserves the chance to show what he can do," said Foxes boss Martin Allen before the encounter. He was the subject of interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier in the summer and it was in the West Midlands, with the Saddlers, where he made scouts and managers alike sit up and notice; he notched 30 goals in 55 starts and was the subject of much speculation before he clinched his big-money move to Leicester. What comes as the biggest surprise, however, is that Grant seems to be still in the market for a front-man. With 6ft 3 Czech forward David Strihavka already in, Jamie Cureton settling back into Norfolk life like he's never been away and the two Chris' - Brown and Martin – enjoying a fruitful pre-season so far, most thought that City's spending in this area was done and dusted. Add the fact that Messrs Dublin and Huckerby are equally at home up top as opposed to their defensive and left-ish roles and Grant has some real options in there. Oh yeah, don't forget Ryan Jarvis as well, although it would be easy to do so. It seems like an age since we last saw him in Canary colours. Fryatt doesn't seem to be the only name on Grant's radar though.
NCFC_Chris Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 Norwich fan here, how much truth do you think there is in this rumour? and how good is Fryatt because £1.5m is a lot of money for 10championship goals, at the moment i'd much rather sign Riordan for £500k ps is the foxile on this site the one who posts on the norwich pinkun forum

Stevosevic Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 i don't think there is much truth in it, i can't see him getting into our side if we had him Why not, you have Cureton and that Czech lad? As none of you have seem him play yet, maybe in a friendly, how do you know he's any good? Fryatt has alot of potential and if Wolves made a bid for him, i'm pretty sure he would get in your side or at least play a large number of games.
