I'd of preffered them as unlike you what seems like 99.9% of the other people on this board

Yeah we all watch fooking Corro instead while you compile your scouting reports on every player you watch.

I'm likening his record last season to Trevor Benjamin's at Leicester in the 2002/03 season, it's just a shame we didn't have a trigger happy team willing to pay £1.6+ million for him.

Can I just say again we have only payed £1.6 million for Campbell at the moment to all those who think £2.1 million is paying way over the odds...

I'd of preffered them as unlike you what seems like 99.9% of the other people on this board I actually watch football and have some sort of opinion on all the players mentioned and Im not going off something as black and white as goal scoreing records!

He might not be shit but I am very sure he wont score 17-18 goals which is what I'd expect from a 2.1 million striker. I'm not saying his terrible he's better than some of the over priced guff we could of signed I just don't like the grass is always greener, he costs lots of money get him attitude that has got everyone jumping up and down.

Also after one single bad year the people who were arse licking Matty Fryatt and calling him the next Gary Linekar are now saying he'll be playing for Bournemouth in League 2.

Although the fact that the person in question thinks Bournmouth are in League Two sort of sums up his general football knowledge as a whole.

Agreed for the most part.

Believe we should keep Matty Fryatt anyway, for the promotion push, like.

I don't necessarily think this is the end of Fryatt. Teams challenging at the top end tend to have at least 4 decent strikers (eg Brum with Jerome, McSheffery, Forssell, Campbell, Vine).

Fryatt clearly has something to offer, he looked superb when he first joined and a season of pie eating and lack of fitness shouldn't detract from the fact that he can be a decent player.

I was thinking the same, but we were the trigger happy side willing to pay that sort of money for him  DJ will be a good signing, however we still need another striker unless Chambers, Odhiambo or Sappleton are going to make the step up, i doubt that though.

Hume was a League One player at Tranmere. Campbell was a player who scored a good amount of goals for the amount of games he started at a promoted Championship club.

And how do you know what Folwer's wages are? How do you know we couldn't still pay them now?

DJ was a none league player come good. If he hadn't scored in a high profile cup game he'd still be at Brentford. He's barely scored more league goals than Elvis.

I'll get behind and support any player at LCFC and I am glad to have him here as extra strength but I'm not convinced he'll earn a starting place and I'm certain there are better ways we could have spent £2m.

Plus I'll be gutted if Fryatt goes as part of this, still can't believe how people have turned on him and how people can think DJ is a better prospect just because he (Fryatt) spent so long injured and unfit last season.

:dunno: It's not my fault your point of view is black and white goals scored here goals scored there. If theres a bit more to it than that I suggest you take a bit more time thinking about your arguement.

In any case as I say, I have nothing more to say on the subject. Lots of money, not convinced by him from what I've seen, selling Fryatt could be a big mistake. Not sure about it at all. Will hold my hands up if I'm wrong.

You don't know DJ like a Brum fan does.

I'm sorry, but if he thinks DJ Campbell will ever be worth 6 Million pounds he's not a very good judge of player.

£1.6m is way over the odds too.

£500k extra if he helps us get promoted is OK but I can see him playing a bit part and us still having to fork it out anyway.

Harsh... he scored 12 last year and benji scored 13 in his whole city career.

Campbell seems to fit the young and hungry mould which is good.

If he's a straight swap for Fryatt, then there's probably not much lost. Fryatt's got a touch of the sicknotes about him, so we could just be part-exing for a more reliable model. I think Fryatt's got a bit more class than DJ, but I don't think DJ will let us down in the hard-yakka department and he's certainly a more competant footballer than, say, Elvis.

£1.6M doesn't have Akinbiyi-like pressure. Good luck to him.

I appreciate you don't want to talk about it anymore (yeah right! :D) but just as a general point, there is more to it than goals but that only supports DJ's case. He'll chase everything down and he's quick. It'll be like having two Humes up front in terms of workrate. I can't wait to get started now. Teams are going to HATE playing against us. With the experience, quality and workrate of Clemence, Kishishev and Wesolowski in the middle and the sheer pace of Ka'abi, Hume, Chambers and DJ, we are going to be as competitive and attack-minded as anyone in the division IN MY OPINION. :D

Obviously that's bull, i'm just talking about Brum fans in general. They seem to quite like him from what i've read. Let's wait and see anyway, whatever we think of him now, i'm sure we're all hoping he's a great success.

You're surely not seriously likening DJ to Elvis?

Elvis' goals to games ratio is quite frankly woeful compared to Campbell's.

I think Fryatt will be on his way if the offers come in and Campbell coming in doesn't help his cause. But for me, Campbell has more than Fryatt- more pace and is generally more of a livewire.

I know there is more to the bloody argument but they are the FACTS!!!!!! They are worth more than just my bloody opinion on it. You know nothing about me, what I do or what football I watch but you have decided your opinion is worth more than 99.9% of the people on here when you know nothing about us.

Finally something I can't argue with.
