Mark Posted 27 December 2007 Author Posted 27 December 2007 Another MOM peformance from him, ran and ran and ran, and got a deserved goal to round off one of the best team moves I have seen for a long time.I know buying him is not an option, but anyone up for stealing? He is only small after all Very Happy Gradel - A wing display up there with Wade Elliott, Paul Wood and Richard Cookes finest - mesmirising. they all played really well but Gradel was superb. ....all 6 loanees going back to their parent clubs in january so said jm today.....
Cobbo Posted 27 December 2007 Posted 27 December 2007 Well the reports sound fantastic, good stuff. Hime and Hayes on either wing in a few years? In the meantime good impact subs?
filbertway Posted 27 December 2007 Posted 27 December 2007 Cool sounds like he might dissapear out of games for spells of times but when he is involved he will always look like doing something positive?
MC Prussian Posted 27 December 2007 Posted 27 December 2007 "Who needs a winger, we have Gra-a-a-del!"
Chairman of the Bored Posted 27 December 2007 Posted 27 December 2007 Someone posted on a Bournemouth messageboard that he would be returning in January but obviously I don't know how reliable that is. Can't believe I went to see Bournemouth play, he wasn't even on the bench and then the next game he starts. Ridiculous. Pleased for him and for their fans today though. Bournemouth's problem is that Kevin Bond is a bit of a knob. Generally, Cherry fans like Gradel and want him to stay....along with the other 2,000 loanees they have at present!
Bryn Posted 27 December 2007 Posted 27 December 2007 Hope he has been recalled, will give us another option. We're bereft of width and we send one of the two wingers at the club out on loan Our club has been so badly managed.
Thracian Posted 27 December 2007 Posted 27 December 2007 Cool sounds like he might dissapear out of games for spells of times but when he is involved he will always look like doing something positive? Wikipaedia says he's scored twice but I think he's scored four goals so far this season from the right wing and that from around a dozen games. That's more than all our right wingers put together over the last three seasons and would make him joint second top scorer at Leicester. But because he doesn't charge around like an electric Hume he'll probably be considered a luxury player by modern managers. He only disappears to give his opponents some respite!

I think he has 5 in 15 - he got one early in the season, two crackers in the Crewe game, that penalty where he seized the ball off a team-mate to take it and the goal against Orient yesterday. Fantastic goal ratio again. By all accounts he is returning in January and Holloway would be well-advised to get him in the side ASAP because if we can save ourselves a million or two on a winger then it will be worth the gamble.

I certainly didn't remember the one earlier in the season but a 1 in 3 ratio is good for a striker never mind a winger. Let's hope you're right about his returning. Not that I ever wanted him gone considering what alternatives we've had to put up with.

Due to our circumstances on the wings he should never have gone anywhere in the first place so hopefully we're making arrangements for his return already, otherwise he may not get a chance because it sounds like Ollie's planning to purchase players for both wings by the end of the window.

Well Gradel scored close to one a game the two seasons before this in Reserves and Academy football and if Holloway can find a right winger who scores better than 1 in 3 good luck to him. Cos, so far, we've had a succession of players who've insulted the position over the last four years.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 27 December 2007 Posted 27 December 2007 remember guys.......he is playing for AFC Bournemouth, who are a lot more turb than we are, by quite some distance. I do go and watch them from time to time.

Not that I ever wanted him gone considering what alternatives we've had to put up with. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...lts/default.stm Knew I hadn't made it up. It was a cross-shot away at Doncaster and was actually their first goal of the season after drawing blanks in their first three games. Coincidentally it was the same day we stuck four past Watford, although of course that never actually happened. It didn't make an awful lot of sense sending him out on loan retrospectively given what happened with Kaebi and the club have paid the price for that but I am heartened by Holloway's desire to see all his players play before writing them off. I am optimistic he will give Gradel a chance.

Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 27 December 2007 Posted 27 December 2007 The way December had been going I thought we might be playing each other next season. Not impossible even now. hehe yea, but that wasn't my point (scary nevertheless!, although I think the Cherries are dead certs for the drop themselves tbf). He is obviously playing well, well enough to make the grade in our newish setup under Ollie??? Having wingers on trial doesn't bode well for the young lad does it..... Hope he does get at least a chance though, Kaebi did....
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 CHERRIES boss Kevin Bond looks set to lose Reading quartet Jem Karacan, Scott Golbourne, James Henry and Alex Pearce next week. The teenage prospects are all expected to return to their parent club following Cherries' League One encounter at Brighton on New Year's Day. And while their anticipated departures will leave a gaping hole in the Cherries squad, Bond is hoping to keep loan pair Max Gradel and Jean Francois Christophe.
FleckneyFox Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 We also had a rather sad goodbye from Maxi and Hendry as they threw their garments into the North Stand. Thats from Bornemouth fan site.
Wezleylowski Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 Thats from Bornemouth fan site. They are going down now. They will be useless without our Maxy
lookwhaticando Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Goodbye, Maxi. Can't see it, personally.
Webbo Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Goodbye, Maxi. Can't see it, personally. I used to drive one of those. Terrible gear boxes.

Mark Posted 1 January 2008 Author Posted 1 January 2008 so is he back at leicester? as people are putting him in their team lineups Starting for Bournemouth today, I'm sure it's his last game before his loan ends though.
Cobbo Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 A Bournemouth fan on another forum seems to think his loan has been extended?
