Geo V Posted 7 September 2007 Posted 7 September 2007 Phew, We, Swindon are so lucky Milan has rubbished rumours of pinching our manager. Paul Sturrock is the best manager we have had since Macari and Hoddle.OOP's, Sorry to mention Hoddle [ The man that masterminded and controlled the play-off game 4-3 - ]. To be honest Hoddle is worth a shout for your manager's post. Crap at Wolves and Spurs, okay at Chelsea and England. After all he owes you one. SEE YOU NEXT SEASON FOXES Most of us aren't convinced that Sturrock is the right man for us but I wouldn't get too comfy, especially as we may turn to Sturrock if the 6 on the shortlist say no Good Luck this season but you wont be playing us as we`ll be in the Premiership.
davieG Posted 7 September 2007 Posted 7 September 2007 Based on the Foxfanzine we'll be announcing all six managers on MMs short list as our manager next week. When he said 20 I didn't think he meant all at once. Fox_trot1 Posted on 7/9 18:30Email this Message | Edit | Reply Who needs Dowie when we have??????? George Graham!!! not my 1st choice but certainly has the right credentials a friend of mine works for the Mercury and apparently they are preparing for the announcment on Monday morning.

Maybe thats why the apology from Davies came out today. Well, almost an apology Graham is a bit of a dinasour in management terms as he hasn't done anything since Arsenal but despite this, he commands respect as a previous winner and I would put him above the likes of Megson and Reid. I think.
dandannieldanok Posted 7 September 2007 Posted 7 September 2007 bringbackmickyadams Posted on 7/9 17:11Email this Message | Edit | Reply Peter Reid Reid will be installed as The Director of Football on Monday Adrian Heath will be the Manager No anointment to be made till then due to Reid being part of Sky's Team for the England game they have both agreed 2 year deals Heath will bring in Alan Cork I have been told this by a Youth team player who I am related to all the players met all three of the new look team today How could someone with such a good username post such crap......................................or at least I hope it is. Adrian Heath? He couldn't pick a manager with a worse record if he tried. Tbf he did Okish at Burnley but other than that yet, he has an apalling record.
dandannieldanok Posted 7 September 2007 Posted 7 September 2007 Probably already mentioned but...... Reid keeping his fingers crossedPeter Reid has also been linked with the vacant position at Leicester following Martin Allen's departure. Reid said: "Of course I would like to return to football but it's a case of biding your time and keeping your fingers crossed."
Lets Be having You Posted 7 September 2007 Posted 7 September 2007 http://www.coventrycity-mad.co.uk/news/loa...W&id=352257 You have got to be fooking Joking

Jay Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 It's a cov disabled wind up, they just took it off foxfanzine. What makes you think they would know? it's seems pretty conclusive due to the fact the retarded scummer in an attempt to be funny made himself look like a tool by mixing up Plymouth and Preston!!
Cheese Me Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Soho_Fox Posted on 7/9 16:51Email this Message | Edit | Reply Book Opened Up again on Bet 365 Dowie drifting slightly - 4/6 fav to 6/4 fav Reid well in to 11/4 Megson in at 6/1 Rodgers taken a walk - 11/4 to 8/1 Roeder 10/1 Jewell gone right out to 20/1 Warnock drifted right out to 20/1 Dowie still hot favourite but now red hot instead of white hot. Good. TBH I'm well and truly at the point where I'll accept anyone as long as it isn't Warnock.
RowlattsFox Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 it's seems pretty conclusive due to the fact the retarded scummer in an attempt to be funny made himself look like a tool by mixing up Plymouth and Preston!! Could he have meant he was watching Coventry City's game against Preston?
Cheese Me Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Adrian Heath? He couldn't pick a manager with a worse record if he tried. Surely noone is actually believing this is a possibility. Stand by my earlier post and I'd still take Heath over Warnock but for all Milan's many, many, many faults there's no way he's going to recruit someone with that record who essentially hasn't managed a club for any period of time for almost a decade.
Jay Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Could he have meant he was watching Coventry City's game against Preston? possibly but surely that would make even less sense? bit like saying...Terry Venables watched Chelsea Vs Villa so he is favourite for the Leicester job!!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 I'd rather have Thracian in charge. And that's saying something.

Kilworthfox Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Would Glenn be a bad shout? He does very well until he falls out with key players Being honest most people probably don't like the guy, but he was a class player and other players respect that and would play for us just because he would manage them! & the money!
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 If youre suggesting National managers-Bring back N.Worthington Esq before this prat!!!!
teblin Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 So milan said he is interviewing over the weekend. So we expecting Mr Reid on monday or tuesday?
Jay Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 So milan said he is interviewing over the weekend. So we expecting Mr Reid on monday or tuesday? Please no that sort of thing will really ruin my week!!
Micky Ruddle Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 MM has got to try and convince Jewell to come back into management. He's the kind of boss that'll take us places Forwards hopefully

reynard Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Apologies if this has already been discussed/answered but I haven't time at the moment to read whole thread. What is situation at Southampton re. Burley who is rumoured to be clearing his desk? Surely he would be good for us.

joely22 Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Right boys and girls, from what I've been told from a couple of sources, this afternoon Billy Davies has resigned. Or is close to it. One who told me told me about Paul Ince going to MK Dons a few weeks before it happened, the other, I'm not too sure about. Basically, Neil Warnock or Paul Jewell is already lined up to replace Billy, more than likely going to be Warnock as Gadsby (our chairman) loves him!! :@ Apparently, you went for Billy last season and he wouldn't cost anything in compensation therefore likely to go to you lot. Not very happy about this at all but I can see it happening. On current record, I can't see Billy lasting very long at your place. He's a quality manager who will get you results but he aint half fiery!! So he'd probably be sacked before the press conference. Anyways, thats all the news I've got for you now, take it as you like, might never happen but I have a sneaky suspicion that it might
