Your climate is mental!

It'll be -40 in a couple of weeks!

yes it is mental  this is why i have my heat on at 22 lol . The changes in fall and spring are crazy and your body doesnt adapt so fast. I havent had the heat in today (obviously). Windows open and fresh air through the house.

Son has the flu , daughter is getting over an ear infection/ fever the last week...we needed this heat day!

Now with todays massive win, i will have to deliver my package to her personally. Lol.

Hope the family get well soon mate, horrible when the kids aren't well.

My only problem with the weather is 'do I need a cap today in case it rains?'

Good job I'm not out there with you, I'd probably have to consider bears too lol

Thanks. They will be fine. We do have a shortage of tylenol and ibuprofen/advil over here for kids . You can't find it anywhere so have to resort to other remedies and crushing adult tylenol into honey or applesauce to control fevers.

I was wearing my "footballer" cold weather gloves  last week with a  tuque. Today, tshirt and shorts.

As far as bears, none of them live around here. Need to go out further into the bush for that. Having said that, i have indian genes so i'm hairy like a bear. Watch out.

Stealth train strike.

Walked to the local train station - trains delayed and no information on when they would be running.

Walked home and drove to the nearest big station - trains delayed and any trains stopping were just allowing passengers off, and not on. No information about when they would be running.

Tried to drive a bit closer to see if I could get a different route. Everybody had the same idea and I was stuck in traffic for 2 hours.

Now sat back at home - I've had to cancel the work I had today with a new client, which will likely jeopardise any further work with them.

I've also had to cancel 3 training courses (and had to pay two of the trainers that were delivering it) this week due to the RMT and striking train staff.

Fvck off.

Hope your experience is a better one than mine was.

Nightmare day.

Busy. Our wood pellet boiler threw an error this morning so I set to finding the problem. The ignitor's gone. New part ordered but it will be tomorrow at the earliest, so I took the opportunity to strip and clean the boiler. It should be done every year anyway just as a maintenance thing. Dirty job too. A big bit of kit but surprisingly simple in operation, I quite enjoy the task.

Hopefully the ignitor cartridge will arrive tomorrow and I can fit it and fire up the boiler again. Fingers crossed that's all the problem is.

Well ..  it was and it wasn’t ..  the train to London was bang on time and there was plenty of room ..  however !! ..  the meal in Tasting Italy was absolute sh1te ..  and as for the play, Good,  starring David  Tennant  ..  what a load of cobblers ..  I fell asleep.  Directly in front of us (blocking Mrs CF’s view) was John Bishop ..  and 3 rows in front of him was Walliams ..  they seemed to like it ..  me, I wished the train hadn’t turned up ..  :)

First hand experience of NHS strain impacting on patient care.  Everyone was doing their best but demand outweighed resources.  My latest medical issue timeline:

January - noted issue

February - problem hadn't gone away so booked GP appointment

March (four weeks later) - got GP appointment, referred to specialist

May - appointment with specialist, sent for CT scan

June - CT scan followed by another appointment with specialist, sent for MRI scan

July - MRI scan

August - told by medical secretary to specialist that there were no doctors available to review my scan results so there would be a delay

September - advised scan results reviewed, given appointment with specialist

November - specialist appointment, told I needed an operation, put on NHS waiting list.

So it took nine months from initial contact with NHS to get a diagnosis.  Good job it didn't turn out to be cancer.
