I hope to god ginger was watching closley today, cos if he's fit then he just can't be arsed. Gave the ball away constantly and didn't put anywhere near 100% in. Piss off Carl.

Court adjourned

Play suspended. Centre Court is flooded.

In all fairness, he did look of the pace today, but it's his first start in a few months.

Wasnt fit and wasnt sharp, you could see that by his touch. 6 million pound players dont have touches like he did today (ok ade akinbiyi, fook off!).

Poor management decision to play him with de vries doin ok.

I dont know what happened to him today....during the first 20 minutes he looked up for it, won everything, everything went through him. He looked like the player we really needed.

But after that, as you said he looked lathargic and like he just couldnt be bothered. However his fitness levels may have been to blame for this (hopefully anyway).

If this is indeed the case, after a few games i think he can be a real threat in this division.

Cort looked a long way off match sharpness, needs to play alot of reserve games before being given another start, MdV should of been on the pitch at least 20 mins earlier then he was

He was fine for the first 15 minutes, but that's all the fitness he had in him, he only played 45 minutes for the reserves and looked knackered.

I thought he was good for the hour; tracking back, linking play - he had a good 60 minutes on the pitch. He should have been subbed on the hour mark but was left on too long and, as ever, people base their match comments on the last five minutes they remember.

Tbh it wouldn't surprise me if Manderic picked him to play.

Stunned DeVries didn't play considering his recent home form and his work rate.

Cort was poor in the reserves on Monday, and looked outclassed by Sappleton when he came on.

So to start him today was shocking.

He did win most of the balls that were hoofed up to him, but his touch was awful, and although MDV's not great in the air I believe that he has good close control and can feed Hume, DJ etc through.

He should have come on later in the game if Megson was so desperate to see him.

After 20 minutes I was thinking that he was my man of the match already, after that though he drifted out of the game and did next to fook all.

I'm hoping it's lack of match action, because the first 20 minutes were brilliant.

He did pick up that knock (we had a freekick and I think someone stood on his foot) just before he had that shot. After that he was awful.

Oh good, that means he's out for the rest of the season then! :@:@

A) Who gives a**** if it's spelt right. Is that really worth a post. Football forum. Pecker.

B) Was I watching a different game? He won very little in the air. I feel you may be beguiled by the fact that the ball was near him in the air. WINNING the ball implies some control over direction. He did f u c k all of use, had one shot and skied it. Admited, he put the ball in the net, but for no advantage. I'm all for supporting players but this was an insult to hard working strikers who are playing well, whether it be for the first or resereve team.

Absolutely. For a good 60 minutes or so he was good. Won virtually everything in the air and he tracked back well and linked with Hume and the rest of the midfield quite good.

At the end you could see he was well short of match fitness. People can be quite fickle sometimes.

Only quite?
