General Smuts Posted 13 January 2010 Posted 13 January 2010 'Walking Like A Ghost 'makes my top 1000 list. Massive tune. My new favourite is Eliza Doolittle. Fittie <3
Part Of The Crowd Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 Neurosis, I reckon a good few on here would like their edgy progressive style, they aren't as metal as they sound! Honest! Devin Townsend, he has had many incarnations, from his starring role in Strapping Young Lad to his amazing projects. My favourite album of his is Synchestra, it's simply stunning. Check him out, he's absolutely amazing. An inspiration to me definitely. Apologies for the lack of embedded videos, but I can only seem to use the fast reply button at the moment.
Lillehamring Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 i had the, um, joy of listening to italian classical/metal giants, Rhapsody, the other day - oh my...
James. Posted 21 January 2010 Posted 21 January 2010 I don't really keep up to date with this thread but just been listening to The Antlers and their album Hospice in the gym. It really isn't the sort of album to listen to while working out but that said I really enjoyed it. And it has lots of guitars so this is praise indeed. Check them out.
General Smuts Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 I Blame Coco - Indie bliss pop dancey times with 2 lady singerers one sounds like Ida Maria the other sounds like Kylie orgasming. Joe'll like em. Chapel Club - The Smiths via Oasis but not shit.

It says it's Sting's daughter, Eliot Pauline Sumner, who's nickname is Coco. But the song Caesar is quite catchy, featuring Robyn.

Stings daughter is a fittie. Sounds like Ida Maria though.
MC Prussian Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 Some more artists/bands I'd like to hear more from: Chew Lips Dan Goldman The Drones (melodic Aussie Slow-Rock) Gigi (Retro-Pop from Canada; as mentioned in the 2010 thread) Gravity Wave A Great Big Pile Of Leaves Hilotrons The Invisible The Irrepressibles (baroque-pop) Jessca Hoop (one of few original female pop artists) Jim Guthrie (Canadian Singer/Songwriter reminiscent of Lennon) The Junipers (local East Midlands project) Luxury Pond My Robot Friend Oh No Ono (great pop music from Denmark; think of Supergrass with synthies, less guitars - catchy) The Paper Cranes The Phenomenal Handclap Band
Joe. Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 Chapel Club should have a good year. Slightly White Lies-esque from what I've heard so far.

Thracian Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Asia particularly their Asia Alpha album: Heat of the Moment, "Don't Cry", "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes", "Never in a Million Years" "My Own Time (I'll Do What I Want)" , "The Heat Goes On", "Eye to Eye", "The Last to Know", "True Colors". Great music to drive through the night with when you're on your own and can turn the sound up. I've yet to meet anyone else who likes it mind.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 3 March 2010 Posted 3 March 2010 Rise to Remain, the singer is Bruce Dickinson's son. They aren't anything like Iron Maiden if that's what you are hoping for, more Metalcore/Scenecore.

Joe. Posted 4 March 2010 Posted 4 March 2010 Valerenga, you may like Sarah Jaffe's 'Clementine'. Really nice track from an artist who might get some coverage this year.

General Smuts Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 Anyone remember Spitalfield? Yeah saw them support Fall Out Boy at the Charlotte. Woeful.
MC Prussian Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 By sheer accident (actually, I was reading a blog about kid condoms, imagine), I stumble upon this weird short called "The Child That Smelt Funny" by a guy called David Firth. Turns out, he also does a good job at music, particularely sampling, disguised as Locust Toybox. The best part of it? You can get all of his albums for free. Blimey.
