dandannieldanok Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Why the hell are people blaming Henderson, as far as radio commentary goes he wasn't at fault for any of the goals. Some people need to open their eyes and see that our defence needs improvement rather than pick on him as a scapegoat. Yes Fulop is probably the better keeper but he isn't ours and Hendo needs support as our number one whether you like it or not, that is the situation.
Bluemoon Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 i agree there are a lot of different areas that need strengthening but for me goalkeeper is one of the main ones if you have a sh*t goalie then you are going to lose a lot of games unless the defense are amazingly good which ours isn't at the moment. What is exactly happening with Fulop.....does anyone really know??

I disagree, I don't think Henderson is that bad. In many ways we were actually spoilt by how good Fulop was. We need to build a team to get us out of this division and we have a budget to do that. Henderson is capable of playing in a team that can do that. From what I heard, nothing points to Henderson being at fault for any of the goals today. Why do people cast blame on him?
Matt Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 A loss, but not just a loss, sounds like we played poor again. I can't exactly give an honest opinion as I was listening to RL, but didn't sound very convincing! We will have these blips, and even the best teams have bad games, we're not one of the best teams and i'll reserve judgement till we see more of Ollie's players he'll be bringing in. Fulop we need, end of. And as I said yesterday it's fine signing strikers but the problem we've had with strikers in the past few years is not that there bad players but the players behind are not good enough, we need someone to feed the strikers. Disappointing loss but it's nothing new, move on to the next game...just so happens i'd we didn't have a F.A Cup run, so wouldn't mind a loss on Saturday.
Thracian Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Alright alright, championing Sheehan at every little oppurtunity is getting abit boring now.He probably is the better choice at this moment and time but theres little anyone can do about it. Perhaps the difference between you and me is that I know what I believe in and stick to it unless the facts tell me I'm mistaken. And I'll keep doing whatever I can to effect the approach I believe in so long as Leicester City continue to embarrass themselves. Unfortunately those running our team don't seem to know what they want and continually change from one thing to another.

dandannieldanok Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 From what I heard, nothing points to Henderson being at fault for any of the goals today. Why do people cast blame on him? People are sheep and just follow each other in the blame stakes, it seems we always have to have a scapegoat and unfortunately posters choose hendo. The reality is however that the defenders have conceded 3 headers to blokes who are only as tall or smaller than themselves. It seems as if the likes of Kisnorbo and McAuley can get away with anything with our fans and they'll still be looked on as great players.

AyewJoking Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Did Fulop play for Sunderland today? Yeah yeah
Simon Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Did Fulop play for Sunderland today? Yeah yeah Nope cause Sunderland are playing tomorrow. Not that I think he'll play anyway... God some of you lot are up and down like hormonal women sometimes! One result doesn't go our way and we're suddenly shite again... I'm not going to start throwing my toys out of the pram after this. QPR are an improving side and we failed to make the most of the chances we created (and to be fair, we did create some chances!) whilst they were much more clinical by the sounds of things (and by looking at the stats!). I'll wait and hear from the people who were at the match to see what they think before I get all pessimistic.
Solihullfox Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Looks dead in the water for Fulop coming back to us. Ollie says Sunderland want 3 million for him
Thracian Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Looks dead in the water for Fulop coming back to us. Ollie says Sunderland want 3 million for him It's enough but is £3m so bad if we have Premiership ambitions. He'd be one player we didn't need to change if we did ever get promoted. I see no reason, given his age, why he would not retain his value or even increse in value slightly so, surely, he would be a sound investment especially given the time we've had to look at him.

Sound reasoning but the price tag is still too high.
dandannieldanok Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 How did Ollie sound when he revealed the price all you radio listeners, determined to get his man? resigned to losing out on him?

I think we are about to find that MM and Ollie are not prepared to match their talk with money, although I personally would not spend £3m on him, or any other 'keeper........I think we have far more pressing needs. Also, I do believe we have advertised our intentions and the size of our wallet inadvisably. All very regrettable.
Moreton Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 QPR are beggining to be a decent team, they are beeming with confidence and are fully loaded with cash, our squad still wasnt good enough according to Ollie and the new signings still need time to settle in, with more signings on the way we will become a team which others will dred to play

Basingstoke Fox Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Got back 1/2 hour ago I think if we got the 2nd, we would have scored a 3rd too because they looked nervous at times even when they were 3-0 up!! Even QPR fans after the game were saying so. We missed Fulop big time and were unlucky (Howard shot) and also pure crap(how did Fryatt not score from 1 bloody yard out!! We need wingers and we will get into the playoffs Also WHOS THE W**KER IN THE HAT what a knob!

Well said!! Any half decent side is built from the back. Brian Clough knew it and Alex Ferguson knows it. This team is full of useless pillocks and are simply not good enough for this division. Almost every one of them will need to be replaced over the next couple of seasons if Mandaric's plans are to reach fruition. Fulop should be the No. 1 target in my opinion. All this chatter about wingers and ball playing midfielders (whatever they are) is putting the cart before the horse....or donkey in this case.
davieG Posted 1 January 2008 Author Posted 1 January 2008 Stats according to Vital football (QPR's figures are first) 6 On Target 4 8 Corners 10 22 Fouls 16 1 Yellow Cards 2 0 Red Cards 0 54 % 46
Monk Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 QPR were not all that good a team, it was just that we had absolutely no formation for 60+ minutes. Oh, and the fact that Henderson looked completely clueless at everything. After the 2nd goal went in we were predicting 4-0, 5-0 purely because Hendo could not deal with crosses. On a plus note if we can ship in some wingers Howard looks like a likely lad to put them away. All is not lost but this is a game I'd rather forget.
Asha Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Henderson was OK with a long run in the team. Coming back today after being clearly second best for the whole season can't have been easy. Nevertheless, we need a better goalkeeper.
davieG Posted 1 January 2008 Author Posted 1 January 2008 Source Leicester boss Ian Holloway insisted there is more to come from strikers Steve Howard and Barry Hayles after their Foxes careers began with a 3-1 defeat at QPR. Former Rangers manager Holloway endured a miserable return to Loftus Road. Goals from Damion Stewart, Adam Bolder and Dexter Blackstock put QPR in command before Iain Hume pulled one back with a sweetly-struck free-kick. Howard, a £1million signing from Derby, came on as a 32nd-minute substitute with Leicester already 2-0 down. But Holloway said: "Both Steve and Barry showed what they are all about. "Steve, who played 90 minutes for Derby the day before yesterday, hit the post and Barry chased everything. "I don't want everything to fall to them because we have other forwards, but with them around now I've got more options. "I'm obviously disappointed but I have spoken to my players about positivity. We have to look to the future." Stewart's header from Akos Buzsaky's corner gave Rangers the lead after a quarter of an hour. They went further ahead when Blackstock headed Rowan Vine's cross into the path of Bolder, who nodded in from close range. Howard tried to galvanise his new team and nearly scored a spectacular goal four minutes into the second half, when his 35-yard drive hit the woodwork with keeper Lee Camp beaten. Eight minutes later, QPR went 3-0 up. Again a left-wing cross from Vine did the damage, this time enabling Blackstock to head home his first goal since the opening day of the season. Hume's goal gave Leicester hope, but they never looked like coming back and Howard missed a great chance when he headed wide late on. Holloway added: "My lot usually do better from set-pieces but I have to say the delivery from QPR was excellent. "For their second goal, Blackstock got the header and the midfielder Bolder got in unopposed to score. As a former midfielder myself, I really did not like that. You have to go with the runner." QPR coach Luigi De Canio said: "We played well but we still can and must play better. "We need to keep on improving in certain areas and defending is an example of that, but Damion Stewart will be a very good player when he learns to concentrate for the full 90 minutes. "And when we score, we must not be content with that. We must keep trying to score a second and third goal because the best form of defence is attack." Rangers will now look to complete the signings of defenders Fitz Hall from Wigan and Matt Connolly from Arsenal, with on-loan Plymouth midfielder Akos Buzsaky's permanent move set to be rubber-stamped. The club has money to spend following a takeover by Formula One magnates Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore and have targeted a host of other players. De Canio added: "We will now sit down with the board and see who enters the club's plans. "Anyone who can be beneficial to QPR will be taken into consideration."
Monk Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 I disagree. Credit to the guy for stepping up to the challenge but he is not good enough.
