Corky Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Theres only one left sided player we have had and you know it! He could defend and get forward. He had a great free-kick in his locker as well. Whitlow on the left, Grayson on the right. Great times
James. Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I didn't want Gradel "recalled" I said loud and clear I didn't want him going in the first place - not while we had the likes of Newton. I never said you did want him recalled. I was merely highlighting the futility of this thread because we all pretty much agree Gradel is a very good prospect but one we will have to wait to come back to the club. Hence just really leaving Sheehan which is a topic that, and I apologise if I'm jumping to conclusions, we have said all that can really be said on the matter.
Fat Ron Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 He had a great free-kick in his locker as well. Whitlow on the left, Grayson on the right. Great times Neil Lewis as Whitlows understudy also, lets not forget his mazy runs to nowhere!
Thracian Posted 19 April 2008 Posted 19 April 2008 For those so cynical of Alan Shush!'s defending, the City loanee returned to play another full game for Leeds today and, after the side had shipped three goals during his two game absence through suspension, it was back to familiar ways as Shush! completed five games without his team conceding a goal. Leeds won 2-0 at Millwall - not normally the easiest place for visitors - and Leeds would get automatic promotion if they get their 15 point penalty rescinded but otherwise now look sure to contest the play-offs. Meannwhile, although not playing himself, Max Gradel's Bournemouth won again to climb within four points of Cheltenham, who lost to Crewe, with two games left - a fairly remarkable comeback. They also have a superior goal difference.

By the way comparing shush to Pontus Kamaark is laughable. Quite how Shush would have man marked Juninho in a cup final is beyond my comprehension. Not on the same planet let alone in the same league.

Fox You Forest Posted 19 April 2008 Posted 19 April 2008 Milwall have lost 10 and won 8 and drawn 4 at home hardly that difficult to win there.

filbertboy Posted 19 April 2008 Posted 19 April 2008 I'm sure we'll see in time. Same old same old.........would a moderator kindly delete this thread........ its boring now
clazkel Posted 19 April 2008 Posted 19 April 2008 I'm sure we'll see in time. Alan Shush! is a quality player and i don't understand why we loaned him out, he could do a job for us!
Jack Posted 19 April 2008 Posted 19 April 2008 Alan Shush! is a quality player and i don't understand why we loaned him out, he could do a job for us! Behave yourself
clazkel Posted 19 April 2008 Posted 19 April 2008 Behave yourself I honestly do tho, what did he actually do wrong? I thought he performed well for us earlier in the season
Flynny Posted 19 April 2008 Posted 19 April 2008 In fairness I'd have taken Shush! over Clapham today.
Ric Flair Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 What was up with Maxi on saturday, injured or suspended? Another cracking result for Bournemouth, if they stay up it will be one of the best escapes in footballing history. They've won about 5 on the spin now, but Crewe have also started winning, which has put somewhat of a dampener on things. Let's hope Cheltenham now buckle.

Returned to France to deal with a family matter. Should be back at the club before the end of the season.
Ric Flair Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Returned to France to deal with a family matter. Should be back at the club before the end of the season. Oh god, hope everything is ok. The lad has had enough family situations to deal with this season to last him a lifetime.
SamL Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 In fairness I'd have taken Shush! over Clapham today. So would I. Clapham couldn't even get in the team at Leeds when he was there and then we came in for him. He must have had a field day. I don't think Clapham played particularly well against Barnsley. At least Shush! offers us a bit going forward.
SamL Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Oh god, hope everything is ok. The lad has had enough family situations to deal with this season to last him a lifetime. I agree, hope everything is OK for Max. I really do hope he gets a chance here next season, he deserves it.
bigneville Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Discussing AS is pointless, he's on his way. I would agree to be honest. His contract is up at the end of the season, looks like no offer been made, and he's out on loan. All the signs of a player who won't be coming back to the Walkers Bowl next season.

bigneville Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 He's been offered one and has turned it down. He's going no doubt about it. You learn something new everyday, I didn't realise an offer had been made. Yeah 100% out the door this summer then.
Thracian Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 You learn something new everyday, I didn't realise an offer had been made.Yeah 100% out the door this summer then. Having got him fit and seen him at his best, Leeds seem to want him and to play him while Holloway was half-heartedly prepared to keep him but wanted him out on loan, presumably because he preferred his experienced journeyman and to keep Mattock on the fast track though I cannot see what great effect either have had. Consequence? Shush!'s helped a footballing team, where the management seems capable of getting the best of him, into the play-offs, barring the unlikely. And we, meanwhile, have created next to sod all from the left sided defenders since the New Year to the near cost of our status, have voluntarily negated our previously constant threat from free kicks/corners and given long-serving Shush! the impression he's not even as well regarded as Clapham. Whether a change of manager and a more attacking outlook would change Shush!'s mind at this late stage I doubt, but don't know. However, while some have been eager to knock him at every opportunity, I don't think he's ever been more than grudgingly appreciated by many City fans on here despite his significant contribution this season and, to me, his undoubted ability and potential. That being the case he'll probably be better off at Leeds anyway.
