Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 April 2008 Posted 4 April 2008 With the fans touting Chambers for our team at various times this season, I'll stick to my own judgement and give thanks that the fans don't pick the side. James or Ahley Chambers?
Thracian Posted 4 April 2008 Posted 4 April 2008 James or Ahley Chambers? I was thinking of James - Ashley was only used as an emergency and is clearly not ready yet although I'm fairly sure someone did put his name forward for selection, even quite recently.
Flynny Posted 4 April 2008 Posted 4 April 2008 Funny thing about the so-awful Shush!. Allen played him, Megson played him, Holloway wanted to extend his contract and now McAllister wants to sign him permanaently. I don't recall you being quite so enamored with each of those managers' continued selection of Clemence, or Fryatt. Funny that. When its about Shush! a manager's judgement is alright, yet their continued faith in Fryatt is misguided. Baffling. Also, if you're going to quote stats about Shush!'s defensive qualities, you do have to remember he racked up the majority of his appearances when we were playing 5-3-2 with three centre-backs and Kenton and Chambers in midfield for much of that time.

These are all good points but I just don't understand why people still insist on arguing with Thracian about this. His arguments have been rendered void on any number of occassions yet there are still posters who feel they have to continue the debate. Thracian will never change and he clearly gets off on repeating himself again and again and again. The sooner people stop rising to the bait the sooner we can all move on (apart from Thracian obviously).
Thracian Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 Supposedly rubbish defender Alan Shush! featured in his fourth successive clean sheet as Leeds moved into the Division One play-off places with a 2-0 win over Leyton Orient. Comment from Leeds fan today: ==================== Leeds United now have a FOOTBALL team again! Just back from the game, I don't do player ratings, but some comments: Overall - Leeds played like a proper football team, decent defence, very strong and commanding midfield, dangerous attack, all linked together and functioning as a TEAM. And, Max Gradel helped Bournemouth to a 2-1 away win against League leaders Swansea.

Joe. Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 Where has the loanee thread gone? Thracian seems to have conviniently forgotten about it....
Thracian Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 Closed is it not? It opens and closes as often as a tart's legs.
Tilley Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 It opens and closes as often as a tart's legs. Lovely.
The Reverend Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 Thracian thinks hes Hammond off Top Gear Meanwhile.....
Daggers Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 It opens and closes as often as a tart's legs. That'll be of strong interest to frequenters of Market Street then...
James. Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 Me, Fez, Alex and Holly were closely following davieG, Ultra and Thracian on the way to the ground. I was humbled by seeing them all in the flesh as they held hands and skipped their way to Brammal Lane. (not all of the above post is entirely accurate)
Bryn Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 Swansea fans on Max Gradel. Aye Gradel looked good. Plenty of pace and great dribbling, would shine even more in a better side. Aye, before the game he was quality, and he lived up to expectation. Plenty of pace on him; could improve on his decision making (and hair) though. From what I saw he looked pretty good, fast as fook aswell
Daggers Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 (not all of the above post is entirely accurate)[/i] In my minds eye it is - and that's all that counts.

Yeah and I bet the Leeds fans weren't jumping around waving their shoes in the air were they? Pah.
Bryn Posted 5 April 2008 Posted 5 April 2008 Guys guys, you're reading way too much into this. It's just that, after an unsettled start, Shush! has managed not to shit the bed four nights running

Thracian Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 Yes and it was fooking cold with no clothes on I tell thee! I don't think we should do the "no clothes" again if we're going to get stalked!
Geo V Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 Glad to see Gradel trying to snatch the ball to take penos and generally growing as a player, something he wouldn't do on the bench with us or in the reserves. Bournemouth are winning as well in recent times so I'm sure he`ll do well for us next season and beyond. The rest arent doing too much apparently although Shush! is doing Ok in recent weeks but he is almost certain to leave at the end of the season so I hope he breaks a nail.
Narborough Bod Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 Swansea fans on Max Gradel. QUOTE Aye Gradel looked good. Plenty of pace and great dribbling, would shine even more in a better side. No point him coming back then...
Daggers Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 I would just like to say that I can not believe Alan Sheehan is not responsible for the marvellous snow flurry we are enjoying in the West Midlands. Truly, the best provider of weather from the left of the country.

And you can believe it if you wish. Who on earth would wish to stop you or subdue any of your eccentricities.
Thracian Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 QUOTE Aye Gradel looked good. Plenty of pace and great dribbling, would shine even more in a better side. No point him coming back then... It becomes more and more obvious as each week goes by that we were mad not to use Gradel's ability this season and equally mad to deny ourselves Shush!'s free-kicks etc. Even yesterday when Mattock delivered a couple of reasonable free-kicks there was never the real threat or anticipation of danger and, yet again, there was no outcome. I know it grates on people but that's the reality and all the piss-taking won't change it. Not that Shush! might not feel some frustration himself yet. I believe he's suspended for the next two games and how ironic it would be if his club misses out on the play-offs by any points they lose in his absence. Can't really see it happening but football l can provide some unlikely twists. But Leicester going down and Leeds going up would be just about the most ironic - except perhaps the added marvel of Bournemouth somehow escaping relegation with Gradel's help while we go down.
