MC Prussian Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Ideally, Coventry. However, the writing's on the wall: I think, we'll be facing the third tier in English football for the first time in the club's history. I can't see us getting more than three points out of the remaining three games. If we should stay in this league, it'll boil down to an incredible amount of luck. Luck, not skill. This team and management just aren't up for the task. Have hardly ever been to ever since relegation from the Premier League.
SamL Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 If we can get 4 points from our next 2 games we should be alright. I think Norwich have done just about enough to stay up whereas Blackpool seem to be in free fall. I think they've got by far the hardest run in so I'm going with Blackpool.
Messi Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Most people will vote us but im not going to as i know we can pull throught this......Sheffield Wednesday. Seconded But ollie made me laugh on the radio yesterday, he said he is aiming for 7 points out the last 9
filbertway Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Seconded But ollie made me laugh on the radio yesterday, he said he is aiming for 7 points out the last 9 It really annoys me when managers are blindly optimistic instead of saying it's a bad situation and they've got to sort it out.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Most people will vote us but im not going to as i know we can pull throught this......Sheffield Wednesday. Ditto, especially if they lose on Monday. Then if we beat them, it will go to the last week regardless of other results.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 It really annoys me when managers are blindly optimistic instead of saying it's a bad situation and they've got to sort it out. If he said that he'd get the sack. If I was chairman and my manager said that, I'd sack him. The guy in charge HAS to remain positive regardless.
Master Fox Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 I honestly see us turning over Stoke. I met He-man.
Cat Burger Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 4 points minimum needed, sound good? It would be if we had 10 games left to play, sorry but we won't win one, we're outrageously bad.
Ric Flair Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 We've hit rock bottom, I don't see any qualities in Ian Holloway that can pick these lads up and get every ounce of ability out of them that's needed in these next 3 games. His so called main quality was motivational skills, but they've escaped him since he came here and tactically he's always been suspect. If we do somehow stay up, it will be despite Ian Holloway not because of him. We need a massive amount of fortune go our way, which has happened for the past 3 seasons, I don't see that happening for a fourth consecutive season. However, I can't bring myself to vote we're going down. I've not chosen anyone, I am hoping someone steps up and saves us.
dandannieldanok Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 Leicester, unfortunately. It is all very well saying we can beat Barnsley and Wednesday and that'll do, but those games are more difficult than the one on saturday, which we ****ed up. Can't see us getting anymore than 2 points at best, 4 if we're lucky.
Joe. Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 I really cannot call it. I'd love to say any team other than us but the way things are going I just can't see who's going to be consistently poor enough to drop. Blackpool would be my choice but they're still two points above us. I'd love to be able to say Coventry as well, that would be nice.
scinnell Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 Colchester & S****horpe.Yes another poll! look at coventrys remining games we will only need 4 points to stay up or it will go to goal differnce and we got the best
Legend_in_blue Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 We need Sheffield Wednesday to lose tonight. Any more than that and we're screwed. On paper yes these teams, especially Cov, have harder games, but from a psychological point of view, we'll struggle if we're fighting to get these 4 points from the final relegation spot. This on top of the fact that we are continuing to completely screw up our so-called 'easier run-in'. If we can just keep our heads above water, we might do it. Goal difference will come into play, I can sense it. We need to match Sheffield Wednesday next week in terms of points and then MUST MUST MUST WIN against them at home in 2 weeks. Then sod the last game, we can take it easy. Thank goodness for the goal difference ruling.
C-man Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 My heart and head both say Coventry. I'm sure Goal difference will be vital, with Blackpool finish above Cov because of it. Goal Difference also might be vital at the top. If Stoke and West Brom are fighting it out for the title, on equal points after 45 games, a West Brom victory would be enough on the last day to render what Stoke does irrelevant, giving us a better chance of getting another vital point. I think we can do it, just.

I don't think Wednesday will go down, they seem to be picking up a bit of a form at just the right time. If we can win our next two games, we're safe. My heart is saying that Cov will go down, oh how we'd love that.
leeleic Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 so, can someone please explain to me what exactly it is that has to happen for us to survive? Games we have to win if other teams do, can we get away with drawing any remaining fixtures etc?? I'm not playin the fool, i just need it clarifying!!

FleckneyFox Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 if Blackpool only get a point from their last 3 (perfectly possible) we'll stay up.
davieG Posted 14 April 2008 Author Posted 14 April 2008 if Blackpool only get a point from their last 3 (perfectly possible) we'll stay up. Always assuming we get two draws or a win - a big, big assumption!
Webbo Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 A win against Barnsley and a draw against Sheff Weds could be enough.
