SamL Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Didn't know whether to post this in the Tickets and Travel forum, but I felt it was pretty important... Leicester City look set to take on Sheffield Wednesday in front of their biggest home crowd of the season on Saturday. The Club confirmed on Monday morning that over 24,000 tickets had already been snapped up for the hugely important Championship fixture - with the Owls selling out their entire allocation of 3,200 tickets a fortnight ago.And with demand set to continue in the build up to the game, the Foxes could well be hanging up the full house signs outside the ground ahead of the fixture. A City spokesman said: "Our advice to supporters is simply to secure their tickets for the game at the earliest possible opportunity. "The phone lines have been in meltdown since the ticket office opened at 9am this morning - and that looks set to be the case throughout the week. "By far and away the easiest way for supporters to secure their seats is by buying online. "We can either send the tickets out ahead of the game, or leave them at a collection point for supporters to pick up on Saturday. "Fans can also visit us in person at the Walkers Stadium ticket office throughout the week." Tickets are priced from £23 for adults, £21 for seniors, £15 for students and under 22s. £10 for under 16s, £5 for under 12s and free for under 8s (family stand only). Email the ticket office direct on [email protected]. The ticket office will be open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and from 9am until kick off on the day of the game. Tickets are strictly available on a first come, first served basis. The Club would also like to stress that any away supporters who take up seats in home areas will be ejected from the stadium. Doesn't look like the Owls will be getting an extra allocation.

mat_j101 Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Even if it doesnt completely sell out, if its up near 30,000 it should make for a decent atmosphere. Im looking forward to it. You know the Birch will get everyone riled up!!!
Koke Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Our biggest home crowd is 30.000 against whoever it was earlier in the season. So according to them we'll go beyond the 30k mark.
Uncle Albert Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Our biggest home crowd is 30.000 against whoever it was earlier in the season. So according to them we'll go beyond the 30k mark. Was Barnsley are biggest home attendence?
Corky Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Was Barnsley are biggest home attendence? This season? No way. Hull was our biggest so far.
Babylon Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 You know the Birch will get everyone riled up!!! It has the opposite effect for me!!!!
Uncle Albert Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 This season? No way. Hull was our biggest so far. Ah rightio thanks. Birch's run. I can remember when I did the run, against Bradford City many years ago.
Babylon Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Talking about pathetic propaganda. I know about 20 people who are going that don't usually, plus lots more who are interested. I wouldn't be surprised if we get close. Purely because of how important it is, people want to try and do their bit!!!
purpleronnie Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Not doubt 25,000+ leicester fans wont come close to the noise the 4,000 fans made at barnsley.
James. Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Talking about pathetic propaganda. Yes I think from now on the ticket office should release statements saying we're really struggling to sell any tickets for the games because this is a shit club with no fans and a nutcase Chairman. Positive marketing is SO last year.
Daggers Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Yes I think from now on the ticket office should release statements saying we're really struggling to sell any tickets for the games because this is a shit club with no fans and a nutcase Chairman.Positive marketing is SO last year. Don't come! Tickets may not be in short supply but enthusiasm is...Hell, we don't need your money now that Mandy is going to put us into administrationbut if you simply must come then at least sing a song to destroy the remaining moral of the team.We all dream of a league of Yeovil TownsA league of Yeovil TownsA league of Yeovil Towns* Free carrier bag full of used wrappers for the first 30,000 *
Tilley Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 I hope it is a sell out & anoyone on these boards who is unsure whether to go or not, I think you should, sell the bloody place out for a change.
Kilworthfox Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 We can not sell out as the club will not sell tickets in block L! In fact the ground has been built not in accordance with building regs so we can not fill the ground because it does not comply with H&S standards in the West Stand!
Joe. Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Should be decent, good atmosphere throughout I hope, I have no doubts that Wednesday will make some noise.
FilboFox Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 I am thinking of going... in fact, I AM going but only if I can get a place in the kop... which might not be possible if it sells out!
Thracian Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 to be fair, it could sell out But the City hypists claim so many things that no-one believes them any longer. Yes, they are trying to avoid people being disappointed while drumming up the speed of ticket sales but supposedly expected full houses in the past have had stacks of empty seats. I just hope all ours that give the team full backing from the start - and that includes the largely restrained smoking jacket and slippers brigade in the West Stand.
MC Prussian Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Yes I think from now on the ticket office should release statements saying we're really struggling to sell any tickets for the games because this is a shit club with no fans and a nutcase Chairman.Positive marketing is SO last year. There is nothing but positive marketing. Don't believe the claims that it serves any other, hidden purpose. And you said that bit about "nutcase chairman". In which case I'll hold you personally responsible for the failure of this club. On a sidenote, all I actually criticize is the stupendous, repetitive vocabulary used by the LCFC marketing department when it comes to advertising home matches. Well, the away game texts don't really strike me as being very inventive, either. I mean, a little bit of honesty or less dramatic "banging-the-drum" would be more appropriate. One can still wish for better days.
Simi Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 24,000 already sold. Takeaway 3,200 Sheff Wed fans = 20,800. Which is probably our average crowd for the season almost. So with less than a week to go we'll sell over 5,000 tickets?

They just want people like me who are 50-50 (Well 75-25 ) to get tickets "to avoid Disapointment".
