You think Wales is first world lol

Probably the best way of looking at it is at least you're not paying VAT on it.

We've been pondering with the idea of moving for the last 3/4 years. Just hate moving. Lived in the same area for 30+years but lived where I am for coming up to 10. I consider myself a good neighbour, never take the piss, help them when they in need, never play loud music or TV loud, take all their fvcking parcels in when they know they won't be in to take them! Etc etc.......but it feels like they just take it for granted and just take the piss like parking over my drive even though (I know it's just a line 😂) I have a white H and dropped kerb. Ruined all the grass verges because they all have 2 vehicles each, double park so noone can get through.Well 5 people that live there have 7 vehicles between them and that don't count for their visitors and other children that visit everyday. Is it me who's the problem? Am I being OTT? I dread going home after work thinking if I can get on my drive or at least park outside my house, especially After a long day's work and horrible journey home. They will block my drive so they don't block theirs 😡 I fvcking despise them.

I sympathise.

How about this:

You put some nails outside your driveway. Someone runs over them and gets angry. You say sorry, but you’ve recently received anonymous threats about this sort of thing and you have to check every time you go in or out of your driveway. So sorry they got caught up in this.

Parents ‘coaching’ from the sidelines. STFU.

It confuses the kids and you’re talking shit.

Encouragement is fine but you ain’t no Pep. Bellends.

Experienced this, this morning. Just constant noise and clichés.

Shouting 'second ball' and 'let the ball do the work' for an hour doesn't help or inspire the kids and just pisses everyone off.

It costs less for me to buy a new dishwasher than it costs for Hotpoint to send round an "engineer" (I'll ask what engineering degree he has) to replace a free part.  Mental

Parts covered but not labour? That old chestnut, the most pointless warranty there is

Mechanical, with a specialism in fluid dynamics. It's a minimum requirement at hotpoint to be an engineer, so I've heard

Is changing the latch not something you could do yourself after buying the part off ebay.

I did the exact same with a dryer when the door latch got busted.

It's what I've done.  Was the motor that drove the door opener so got one for £11.  Had assumed by having a free spare guarantee they might send me the spare without having to pay £300 for a technician to come and undo two screws for me.

On the subject of 'experts', my brother-in-law bought a TV from Currys - I know, I know, mistake No1. He needed a hand setting it up as he's not at all 'techie'.

Well, the process defeated me too. Nevermind, I thought, I've seen their TV ads that portray their 'Techsperts'.

I called them. After confirming the model No and that we had completed the set-up, I explained that I couldn't discover how to access Freeview channels from the homescreen.

This was a video call so I could see the annoying little scroats grin on his face, as he explained that this is a 'Freely' TV which doesn't require an aerial as all the channels are streamed via your Internet connection. I said I was aware of that, but it has a built-in DVD-T (Freeview) tuner too.

It doesn't sir, he insisted. His smirk becoming wider.

Why then, I asked, does it have a antenna socket on the back and scans for Freeview channels during set-up?

He looked a bit pi$$Ed off now as he reiterated its Freely only. Even when I pointed out their own website AND the manufacturers, both state that it is available, he stood his ground.

I gave up, so today we went into the store.

Their first 'tech' didnt know, so suggested I speak to their Hisense tech. He was useless too. Fortunately, they had a Hisense rep in store. He smiled too, but was knowledgeable. He explained that a setting hidden in the menu needed to be unchecked (this isn't in the manual btw) so you can access Freeview.

Techsperts? More like clueless morans.

Rant over.

My view on these things is to tell them you'll just buy a new one, but that it won't be their brand.

If everyone did this, they'd soon stop trying it on.

Nobody seems to care about brand reputation anymore.

I hate Currys.

A few yrs ago my PS4 succumbed to the yellow light of death so I contacted Curry's and they told me it wasn't fixable at home and would need to be sdone in store. So I duly took it to Fosse Park and handed it over to the operative. He told me it was something only an official Sony agent could deal with. I said I thought they were. No, apparently their an authorised PS outlet but not authorised to carry out repairs.

Anyway, I was told they would send it off for assessment and gave me reference a number if I needed to contact them about it. It should take about 2 weeks, he said, and they would call me when it was ready.

2 weeks later nothing. I contacted them and was told it was still being "assessed" by the authorised person(?).

2  weeks later, still no call. I contacted them again, gave the reference number and was told there was no record of it being sent for repair. I explained I had taken it in and had this ref. number and there must be a record of this. Apparently nothing. I complained that it had been a month since and was told it would be chased up. "Give us a week and we'll get back to you".

Nothing. So I went personally to the store and demanded either they get it fixed or they replace it. They said "give us a week...".

In the end they said that the console had been "lost" and said they were very sorry but there was no trace of it being delivered to the "official" repairer. There was then quite a scene after they said I could have a reconditioned PS4 in it's place. I lost my shit. I got a new replacement.

On another occasion, we bought a 52" LG OLED TV, an SLR digital camera and a DAB radio/docking station (after getting an inheritance).

I cant remember the total price but it was around £3000.

I asked if there was a deal to be done given what we were spending. I was told no cash discount but they'd throw in an HDMI cable and a scart lead!

Naively, I accepted.

I've never been back since.

Bait boxes are pretty shit aren't they? I remember the bloke I used once saying if you dump something new like one of those boxes in to their environment they'll likely be wary of it and not actually even go in it
