I wish people could talk about the club without getting so stuck in the mire about the merits of different people's fandom and being drawn into keyboard warrior bollocks. It's so tiresome.

Dry Robe bitches.

Often spotted on the sidelines at grassroots football matches, with their sour faces and stupid Dry Robes.

Love my Sola (cheap dry robe).

Keeps me lovely and warm and dry at the pitch side for matches.

Brilliant for going to stadium matches as well

Honestly don't get why people get so pious about what consenting adults get up to between themselves, harming no one else.

... and then those people try to justify their obvious sociopathic inflicting of pain, misery, oppression and sometimes death with weasel words.

Moral turpitude in the name of morality. With an additional dose of divisive and supremacist ideals that lead nowhere good.

It's quite simply because they grow up in a culture where homophobia is normal. It wasn't that different in Britain until quite recently, and I have no doubt a lot of people here still share those views but are afraid to express them in public.

I hardly ever get to use the word "turpitude". It's a shame because it's such a fvcking good word.

Absolutely so.

And so perhaps as time moves forward, so might the value structures of our species.

Just to point out, that looks like 99% or more of the negative comments look to be coming from people not in the UK or not from the UK

It might be about non straight people, or women, or people of another colour, or religion, or anything slightly different - it's just hatred for the sake of it, and it is being weaponised and condoned by the worst sorts of people, with an awful lot of money & influence.

Unfortunately, social media and its approach to “freedom of speech”, allows for idiots to basically say what they want.

For me, it feels like racism in the 80s. It was commonly used as no one was educated.

As time has gone on and generations have become more acknowledging of each other, it’s as a rule, largely been stamped out.

However you’ll still come across the odd absolute cretinous, intransigent pigheaded spoon, that will also tell you football was better when hooliganism was what football was about.

The good news is that they are now in the minority and for me, are largely keyboard warriors. Maybe that’s my naive approach and the circles I move within. I’d like to think they’d be massively called out if they did!

It clearly does still exist within society, as we are discussing it here. However just let consenting adults do, what they want to do. They’re not impacting anyone but themselves, so what does it matter?

I’m hoping like racism, this starts to thin itself out, as time goes on.

What I will say (maybe controversially), is that I don’t need a stereotype for each member of the EDI demographic in every TV series / film that I watch. I do feel they semi try to force the issue, which maybe counter productive? I guess that is up for debate! Ramesh Ranganathan often jokes about him “filling a quota”. I like him but again ….. come on.

I'd be with you on all of this apart from a word of warning on the bolded: current voting patterns indicate that enough people in enough places around the world still buy into that bigotry enough to significantly affect policy decisions, and,by extension, everyone else.

They may be a minority, but they case a long shadow, and, more worryingly, they now increasingly include the younger.

I fully understand what you mean by this.

I didn’t know if it was a case of those who should loudest, however than does become almost a domino impact as more people get cognitive bias, based on being brainwashed by the social media echo chamber ……. I’m looking at X here.

Mine seems to have gone from me looking at mainly football, to people retweeting Musks opinions etc! I’ve had to do a raft of u follows.

If Leicester had a platform that was informative; I’d be tempted to leave altogether.

I feel like we've reached peak footballer anecdote on podcasts now. Really struggling for content. It's getting to the point where the ex player is like "so we're playing this game right, and a ball comes in the box yeah, and you're not going to believe this, but the opposition striker jumps up and heads it into the goal (hysterical screeching laughter off mic).... and I'm looking at Smithy like what has just happened... honestly it was unbelievable...."

Read this in Conor Coady's voice.
